I know we all probably get the pain down yonder but i never knew the name. I have all the symptoms of this.

Do you all have this? If so when did it start for you?

Mine started early too. I am 27w3d and it kills me. I thought it was interesting.
I wanted to see how many other twin mommy-2-b's had this. I guess just curious!

Hope yours eases up for you, but i am sure we are both doomed from here on out!

Holy cow! That's me! I'm not sure when it started, but I was in bed most of my first trimester. It started in my left hip/butt cheek sometime during the first trimester, but this last week it's moved to the other hip (I'm 24 wks now), so I got out my exercise ball and inflated it so I can have some relief when I'm sitting. It seems to be working, but now I'm a little worried it might make it worse. I wonder if this also explains the weird popping I've been feeling down there where there's no joints to be popping.

Well, that's one more thing going on my list for things to talk to my doctor about next week.

Yea were probly doomed now lol but are you having any complications ?? Im on strict bedrest and have been on bedrest since 21 weeks and went on strict bedrest at 24 weeks.??

  6. I've had this since early in the pregnancy.. it is absolutely no fun at all.

For those who are planning to talk to your doc about it.. most of them in the US don't do much for it from what I've read/heard. Most just call it pelvic pain and say it's a normal part of pregnancy.

Another good website to check out is http://www.plus-size-pregnancy.org/pubicpain.htm. I know it says plus size but it doesn't matter.

Alot of people have had some good luck with managing the pain by going to the chiropractor..

Hope that helps some of you!

Wow, I had this during my first pregnancy with singleton and didnt know that my position during labor actually made it worse. I have this condition again, but thanks to you, I know what exactly to tell my doctors and nurses

I had it...it is sooo painful! I will tell you I felt better immediately after delivery! I had a Csection. The Dr. gave me Demerol in pill form for the pain. I didn't take it...but had it on hand...and for some silly reason that made me feel better!

    Missy

    Good luck to you!

I have been having alot of back pain, sciatic, ect. I wouldn't say complications that are causing bedrest. I have had scares and worries with baby b. The whole gender thing and the size. I am getting to the point were i don't know how much longer i can work. I thought I would be tough and last the whole time but i doubt that is going to happen. What are you on bedrest for? I have an appointment next week so i will see what the Peri says for me...

I'm glad this info helps others. I always just thought it was my complaint and i was being a wussy!

I've had this since my first trimester. My doctor told me to wear a support belt but that was basically all I could do until I deliver and she said it will eventually go away.

I have heard that if you have this that delivering vaginally can make it worse. Anyone know if this is true? I don't want this to hang on after delivery. I've been in so much pain for so long and I can't wait until I can feel better.

Gosh, about 2 - 2.5 years ago when I was in here we called it Evil Crotch Pain, or ECP for short! I remember it all too well, it felt like my girl parts were going to snap in 2!

kj427 - I had it (obviously) and James was born vaginally. It didn't linger for too long afterwards. I'd say 2-3 weeks maybe? It did feel 9000% better once they were out though. It just hurt if I accidentally twisted my pelvis while getting up.

I am also having this pain, glad to know i have some more ppl in the same boat as me, well kinda glad i wish noone should go thru this, my pain started when i was 16 wks preg and as some of ur blogs say my doc said the same thing " its a pregnancy thing" today i went to an orthopedic and i have SPD and i have a hair line fracture on my pelvic bone, Going for an MRI now and on strict bedrest, can't go anywhere expect bathroom lolz... or if i do go i hv to use crutches, so that's great

now i hv had this pain for abt 4 wks and i can't go up or down the stairs, shopping is out of the question now, basically stuck at home. I had gone to a physical therapist and well he did a great job by making it even worse :diablo: so that dude is gone out the window.

just waiting now in bed for my 40 wks to be over and over with this pain :s and see my babies and soon forget about this pain for ever

Hope you girls have a better luck with this.

I've had the pubic bone pain for at least a few months. It kills when I turn over in bed and the first few steps I take after sitting down. I'm on home bed rest, so thankfully I'm not doing a lot of walking. No one I talked to had ever even heard of this pregnancy symptom, but from all of the posts here, it's not that uncommon.

I'm so happy to hear that it clears up fairly quickly, as I've been worried about that.

I figure this terrible pain down there is preparing me for the recovery from a c-section if I need one!

Yes!!! I had it from about 25 weeks or so. Not terrible at first but it got worse very fast. It was excruciating to try to turn over in bed. By the end I would very carefully push myself up from lying on one side to sitting position, then just lie back down with my head at the foot of the bed so I could lie on my other side. Much easier than trying to roll over. It was so hard to do anything that involved lifting one leg at a time, esp stairs. I would shuffle everywhere and people would say "oh how cute, you're so big now that you're waddling". I wanted to scream back at them "it's not b/c my belly is big (and thanks a lot for that comment too), it's b/c I'm in horrifying amounts of pain!!!" The only advice I got from the dr was that warm baths might help. They did help a tiny bit, but at 36 weeks I took the last bath of my pregnancy. Luckily I timed it so DH would be home when I wanted to get out of the tub. I was so big and it was so hard to get my legs under me and push up that it took us 15 minutes to get me out. I couldn't help but imagine the fire dept having to come with some kind of extraction tool to lift me out fo the tub! It was hilarious but also a little scary, so no more baths for me.

I had a c-section and was concerned about getting up our stairs. Let me tell you, it was a million times easier than when I was pregnant. I was astonished at how little pain I had getting to the second story and this is the day I got home from the hospital.

I still have a little pain in my tail bone when I get up from sitting for a long time, and my right hip does not have full range of motion, but it doesn't feel like my pelvis is broken anymore so I'm grateful. Hope you can find some relief!

I just told DH this the other day....I said I feel I am already waddling, but it isn't because of my belly, it is because I feel like my pubic bone is going to break in two....ugh.....and I second the getting up the stairs after the csection! I was actually amazed at how easy it was to get up there the day we got home versus before they were born! I just remembered that when I read this!

Thanks for bringing this up! I was just writing it off as general pregnancy pain. Fortunately (for me!) my doula had it with three of her pregnancies, so she had some good ideas about labor positions and things to help ease it. Sounds like the general rule is if something hurts, don't do it!

Yep this is really starting to kick my butt! My masage therapist gave me some excersices to try and I will be talking to my doctor about pain relief. I can't do 9 more weeks of this. I know i sound like a wuss but turning in bed is a chore now...
