It is so weird how they choose the same day to do things sometimes. This morning when they were having their oatmeal and fruit like they do every morning, they both would not open their mouth. So I cut a little of the bread I was eating and gave them a piece. Then I got out a waffle and wanted to see if they would eat it and sure enough they loved it!

These past couple of days I kept wondering how I was going to transition to real food since they did not like the few things I offered them. Looks like they tell you when they are ready for something new.

They still need the cereal and fruit though right? I will try it again tomorrow morning. When do you stop giving cereal?

Mine will be a year old in a couple weeks & we're still doing fruit & cereal every morning. I give them regular oatmeal, though, not the baby kind. Maybe they'd like it better since it has more texture? We do a lot of fruit, though, b/c Zoe has a real tendency to get constipated if she doesn't get it. I find it's easy to mix the stage 2 jars into other things, like oatmeal & yogurt. I'm looking forward to summer, though, when more fruits will be in season. If they don't like the jarred foods, you can try just cutting fruit into small pieces & see how they like it. Mine really like grapfruit, for some odd reason. Dole, I think, makes those small containers of peaches in fruit juice & my babies LOVE those.

Mine went through a phase of refusing baby food not too long ago, they just wanted to eat the foods that they could put in themselves. They are eating both now. I usually put some things on their tray and then sneak in bites here and there, off of a spoon. You could try giving them soft cooked dices of fruit, coated in graham cracker dust or wheat germ.

My girls went through thatat about 8-8.5 months, so I started giving them more table foods. I give them pieced of fruit in the morning, I also give the pancakes, waffles, toast, french toast, real oatmeal, whatever I can think of. My girls were on all table foods by 9-9.5 months, they decieded they no longer wanted babyfood and refused eating it. I look at it as the point we all (as parents) want to reach is to be off of babyfood and on table food, some babies do it soon then other. I'd say go with the flow of your babies they know what they need.

My girls will be 10 months old on the 15th of this month, and they still eat mostly baby food. It was a hard time introducing stage 3 foods, and they still get some stage 2 stuff. I've tried to give them finger food and table food but they gag on mostly everything. They do like teething biscuits and hold and chew them well, but that's it. I want them to start eating more table food but I guess they'll let me know when they're ready, huh?

My guys started refusing baby food at 8 months. They just refuse to let mommy spoon feed them anymore.

I think it's pretty normal for them to be getting tired of the same thing all the time. I know I would. I had to start changing things up. Now (although my girls are a few months older) I put fruit in their oatmeal. I chop up little pieces of banana so that they get the sweetness with the oatmeal. I also used to heat it up all the time so one day I tried giving it to them cold (with a stage 2 fruit mixed in) and they surprisingly liked it. I also tried changing up which meal I gave it to them for. Sometimes I will still give it to them for dinner.
