Wow - thanks guys! I had been meaning to get back here for a while and finally had a chance! I have a TON of new pics on my blog: http://the-prochazkas.blogspot.com and I'll dig up some of our old ones from the girls in the hospital. I can hardly believe it's been a year and that they were once so little!

The last year has been a whirlwind, but an incredible year filled with SO much love! Teagan and Meghan came home after 7 weeks in the NICU at 36 weeks gestation (still 4 weeks before they were supposed to be born!). A month later and Teagan was back in the hospital for another 3 weeks with late-onset Group B Strep Meningitis. We almost lost her (the dr said that if we had waited another half hour she would have had permanent brain damage and another hour would have meant that she would not have made it.) Scary stuff. I can honestly say that all of it changed me. We love these girls (and their big brother) so much and we know that they are miracles. Neither has any complications from their early birth and Teagan has had no issues from her meningitis either. Amazing.

To celebrate both girls coming home healthy and happy, we took them and their big brother to Hawaii in August for 2 weeks. 1 week was a cruise around the islands and then we stayed a week in Kauai. A lot of work (mostly the flights from NY to Hawaii were tough) but worth it.

The girls have been doing great with their milestones and are both crawling and talking (although Meg definitely does most of the talking - Teagan only says Mama or Dada occasionally!) They each have 3 teeth and are working on standing. They love to play together now and Teagan squeals with delight when she sees Meg first thing in the morning. Both girls drink from sippy cups (and have since they were 9 months old) and straws. They also eat all table food (except their milk or nursing session). It's great having them be a bit more independent!

I am still nursing the girls (they never had a drop of formula - even through all the NICU and hospital time). We're down to 1 nursing session a day (right before bed) and I'm in no hurry to cut that one out. That's my snuggle time!

For their birthday we had my family over that night and did a very simple party. Each girl got a cake and we opened their presents. This weekend we're traveling to see DH's family and will have a bigger party there. No real theme except pink and purple colors. Simple, simple, simple! You can see the pictures of their "first" 1st birthday party on my blog too. I can't believe they are 1!!!

Thanks! I'm have fun with my photography and it's great because the kids are still young enough that they don't really run away yet!
