    vtech crazy legs learning bug.

i hate it. so much. so so much.

in fact i've come to hate all vtech toys. they have this false premise of being "educational" because they have colors and letters on them, but when you really pay attention there is absolutely no educational value in what they do. they just play music and yell at you and there's no real attempt to teach anything associated with the letters and colors.

and what's worse, if your kid walks away they call your kid back and beg them to play with them again. repeatedly!

no more vtech toys. if we want educational electronic toys we'll stick with leapfrog.

It's a Sesame Street saxophone that has 3 buttons for 3 different songs, 3 buttons for 3 different effects, and a speed control button. We've had it since our oldest was a baby, so it's around 8 yrs old, and every single kid has LOVED it and played with it over and over and over. I keep hiding it in the toy boxes but they keep finding it! I don't have the heart to toss it because everyone loves it so much! ;)

Sara we have the older version of that toy, it's pretty annoying too but at least it has a volume button on it!

    Crazy Monkey

This monkey wins hands down for us!! It's absolutely obnoxious and goes off with the slightest vibration. Sometimes it goes off in the middle of the night for no reason, haha!!

The battery-operated Thomas engine, because 1) it makes an annoying whining noise when it's on and 2) the kids never remember to turn it off, just leave it whining against the edge of the train table, so 3) I spend more time changing its battery than they do actually playing with it.

It's some sort of keyboard thing that looks like a train. The funny thing is the girls really done't play with it yet but it always ends up in the bottom of the toy box and it doesn't have an OFF switch. So the darn thing gets set off all the time (scarey sounds at night)and I have to pull everything out to get to it so that nothing lays on it!!! If I had half a brain I would just take the thing out and shove it in a closet somewhere :BDH:

    Fisher Price corn popper

This is driving me crazy. Especially when my 6 year old runs around with it in the house. It is sooooo loud!

The Munchkin Mozart Magic Cube. I have loathed this toy since the boys received it as a Christmas gift because it is so freaking LOUD!! We had to put it away for several months because the instant it started playing a song one or both babies would start crying. Every time it was turned on. I don't know what it is about baby toys, but most are insanely loud! We have to put duct tape over the speaker holes on lots of baby toys to try and mute the volume some. It boggles my mind. But the problem with this toy is that the sound seems to emanate from every crevice, so not easily remedied with duct tape. We brought it out for the boys to play with again when they were closer to 11 months old. Now they will tolerate it for longer periods, but if they are tired or if its been playing for too long they still bust out crying at the annoying volume of the songs. And I want to cry too because I can't stand the volume or the music it plays!
