The solution for us for fighting toothbrushing!

So, we finally have it figured out for brushing teeth with my girls.. it used to be a battle, but we finally found something that absolutely works everytime.. thought I would share!

We have a sippy cup that we only use for brushing teeth.. it's different than the other sippy cups we use during the day. I fill this with water and I have two seperate different colored toothbrushes.. I give one of my girls the sippy once they are both in cribs and I go to the other LO and hold the toothbrushes out and ask whether they want "red or yellow." They then hold the toothbrush and I say "bottom teeth first" and I count to ten while brushing the bottom teeth. Next I count to ten for the top teeth... then I say "your turn!" and count to ten while she is "brushing" her teeth. Then we switch and sippy for toothbrushes and do the same with my other DD..

Thought I'd pass this along because it has helped us not to have to battle during our nighttime routine..

 

Awesome! My twins never had any issues wanting to brush their teeth. My youngest though just has not gotten into the routine. We take turns who brushes his teeth first, him or me. Seems to work. I gotta schedule a dental appt. for him soon.

We bought gerber's flavored toothpaste and the girls love it! They actually get very excited for "teef" time. We'll do whatever works, huh?

What helped our two was taking turns. First they would "brush" our teeth, then we would turn around and brush their teeth, they would brush their teeth and then we would say, "Okay, now Mommy and Daddy will go over your teeth. They were also allowed to inspect our teeth when everything was said and done.
