I noticed a lot of post trying to get the perfect "swing shot". I was curious why everyone was going for this particular shot. What other shots (i.e. finger and toes shots) are the must have's for the baby albums and at what stages do you do them? Just curious. It would be cool if you all posted your best shots of the poses.

i think the lying face up ear to ear where one is upside down from the other is kind of a must have, too--i would post mine but i wont have access to my computer for a couple of weeks!

i think the reason we all want these shots is basically just because we can--because we have 2 babies and most people only have 1!!

I think I got a lot of "perfect shots" the first year. Those were pictures were both were looking at the camera, and in a lot of cases between 6 and 10 months, both were smiling!! Now, it's nearly impossible to get them in the same picture!

I think the perfect shot is all interpretation. I have some awesome pictures of the girls...wrapped up in a swaddle, looking at each other for the first time, in their holiday oufits, which I consider the perfect shot.

Have fun with it and click away to document that first year.

Oh I love the hands and feet shots too. I took a photo of Athena's feet next to her dad's, their feet are alike and then of me and Victoria. I also took photos of thier eyes and ears and i still do it often. I also have photos of their heads in dads hands. I will post soon.

I like the two heads together forming a heart shot...

And of course you have to have mom and dad holding both babies:

I'm also particularly fond of "two heads in profile"

And somehow, even though this "pose" was not intentional, its become one of my favorite photos:

Before coming here, I had never seen this pose before. We picked this at our first professional photo session.

    Upside Down Photo

It's funny because everyone we have given this picture to, they don't know how to display it. It can go any way you want to put it.

Now that they are smiling, this so far has been the perfect shot since I got them to smile at the same time. I have not been able to do it since:

    Smiles

Here are some of my favorite shots from the first year. Some of them I planned and others just happened... like the ones of them holding hands. Enjoy getting them in one shot now because once they become more mobile its nearly impossible!!!

    M&A in a laundry basket

    Bottle time!

    M&A from above

    M&A holding hands

    M&A playing

Another holding hands shot (I swear I didn't put them that way!)

And finally... My failed attempt at getting swing shot with both of them looking at me!

DH & I both regret not having more pictures when they were super small. We have tons from the NICU, but not a lot of their first month home. We were more focused with keeping them alive and forgot about the camera! I wish I had more shots of them small in just a diaper, or pictures of their tiny hands and feet. Oh well. We made up for it with the 18,000 (yes 18 THOUSAND!) pictures and video we took from months 2 1/2 to 13!!!
