Hi all Moms with Boy / Girl twins!!

At the moment dh & I are sort of stocking up with diapers for our boy/girl twins arriving towards the end of June.

Can you tell me if White Cloud diapers are ok to use? Are they absorbant? Comfortable? Non irritating?
    What about Luvs?
Any other 'cheaper' brand that do the same kind of job as Huggies & Pampers?

By the way, we already have some Pampers Swaddlers & Newborn Huggies..

    I'd appreciate all responses! :D

    Thank you

    Denise

We stocked up on all brands of diapers before our twins were born. We only used one package of the White Cloud and then took the rest back! They were SO rough compared to the Pampers and Huggies. I felt like I was putting cardboard on the babies. The LUVS were better, but Pampers swaddlers are our favorites. They seem to fit our babies better than the rest of the brands. The Huggies are just too long for their little bottoms. I know the swaddlers are expensive, but to me it is worth it. I wouldn't want something rough on my bottom all day long.

When they were first born, I used the pampers swaddlers...they were great! Now we use the BJ's pampers. They are cheaper and they aren't bad at all, I don't think. They do have stretch to them and we haven't had a major leak yet. We started using these ever since they were about 2 months old! Congrats and Good Luck! B)

I used Swaddlers in the beginning, and then switched to Huggies, and now we use Costco brand. Love them, but I think they start in size 3.

I have found that nothing compares to swaddlers....they are the best as far as softness goes and stopping leaks. They cost more, but sooooo worth it.

we started with a mix of swaddlers and Huggies and after the swaddlers were gone I switched to Huggies Supreme and LOVE them - I need diapers that have oodles of stretch for my skinny waisted kids....

I love the Swaddlers too.. We stocked up on many different kinds too and we like the baby basics brand from Albertsons. Or the Kmart off brand. They are the same identical diaper. I absolutely hated the Target brand. My DS would pee and it would find its way out of the diaper every time and the diaper would be dry. It was like it was repelling it.

We went from Pampers Swaddlers (Premie thru #2) to Cruisers (#3). We tried some generic grocery store brand in the beginning and had leaks. I found that Huggies will work if we have no other option, but that buying Huggies one size bigger than their Pamper size works best. We also tried Pampers Baby Dry and found that they were pretty stiff and did not fit them as well as the Swaddlers and Cruisers.

I had pretty much every diaper brand from my baby shower ... I love the Swaddlers too, they just feel like such a nice diaper. We HATED WhiteCloud, I used like 3 diapers, they were thin and rough and leaked through and I gave the rest away. I buy Huggies or Pampers if they are on sale and I have coupons, otherwise I like Target's brand with the CareBears on them, I haven't had a leak through them at all and the kids seem fine with them. Just bought a pack of Parent's Choice from Wal-Mart and those work well too but I still prefer Target's store brand. I have some Member's Mark from my shower that I haven't tried yet.

For my first I only used Pampers. But since Costco doesn't sell them anymore, and they tend to be more expensive than Huggies per diaper, I usually use Huggies these days. The size 3 diapers are actually cheaper per diaper than the Kirkland ones, at size 4 it's exactly the same. The Huggies have more diapers in a box. I've also used Swaddlers and Target brand. I didn't have a problem with either brand. The Target is a little rougher but still holds well and it's very cheap. I don't use them overnight though, not sure why, but just rather not.

Same here. We use Costco brand, to me they're about the same as Huggies. They do have a size 1-2 but I don't think every Costco carries them. They don't have a 'N' size.
I recently got a box of swaddlers in size 2 for DD and didn't like them as much as I used to. For 'new' babies they're great, but I don't think the soft clothy material can contain 'bigger' baby messes as well. I like Pampers Baby Dry, but they get expensive with 2 bottoms to keep dry :)

In my experience Pampers and Huggies Supremes are the best. When we first brought my guys home we used swaddlers and huggies.

We got a few packages of white clouds and parents choice, but they always had leaks with those. I tried Luv's and they didn't leak... I liked them, but the boys decided they didn't... Luv's broke them out!

I have to say that I LOVED the swaddlers until they grew out of them. I didn't like the Cruisers, so when they went to size 3's I started using Huggies Supremes (that's still what we use) I buy Luv's for daycare because they are cheaper and they still work well, they just don't have the elastic that I like.

But for Preemie/Newborn/Size 1/Size 2, I wouldn't have used anything other than the Pamper's Swaddlers. We tried other brands and they always seemed to leak out the sides or just didn't fit that well until they got a little older.

There's a reason Pampers and Huggies are more expensive. They work better. We tried a number of bargain brand diapers such as Costco's. We found that we had more blowouts, they were less absorbent and the gel would escape and lodge on baby's nether regions. We used Pampers swaddlers when they were little and now we use Pampers cruisers. They just fit our little babies better. I think Huggies and Pampers baby dry fit bigger babies better.

We used Swaddlers all the way through. When we were using them, every package had a $1.50 coupon. We would pay anywhere from 19-20 cents per diaper. Yes, I would stand in the store with my calculator and figure out which package had the better deal. The bigger boxes tend to be more expensive, but less per diaper. The only leaks we ever had were when DS would leak during the night. The next bigger size always corrected that. Now, we've been in Size 3 for a long time.

Sam's Club carries Pampers, so check them out. I believe I saw Swaddlers in Size 1-2, I think that's about 10-14 pounds??? We buy Cruisers in Size 3 there and get 160 diapers for about $36 - about 23 cents per diaper.

Also, you didn't ask - but I'll tell you. Costco and Sam's are price matching on Enfamil Lipil. We pay $27 for a HUGE can (38 ounces). That has saved us so much money during the first year. The savings are well worth a membership to either store.

Definately the swaddlers, they fit so nice, especially between the legs, nice and narrow.

We typically use the Target brand these days (with the Carebears on them). We havent' had any problems with the White Cloud either. I hate the Parent's Choice from Walmart.

I have used mostly Pampers brand. I have used other brands that were given to us and they worked fine. I just like how the Pampers fit on our bg twins.

I like the Pampers Swaddlers, too, but can't afford them. That is usually what they use at the hospital, so my babies always just used them until they ran out. I have used White Cloud with all mine except my first (used Luvs with her) and have had no problems with them. My sister had gotten some Huggies newborn for my last DD, but we seemed to have alot of leaks with them. When we have had accidents with the White Cloud, it has been either a huge mess that I don't think any diaper would have held in or I forgot to change a diaper before laying my baby down for the night.

We used pampers swaddlers in the beginning and now use huggies. I haven't had any luck with the off brands. We had so many leaks, blowouts, and gel ruptures.
It is true they are more expensive, but I found that although the initial cost is more, it ends up being the same or even less because we go through less diapers, KWIM? We are on one income and have very little money, but I think it is a necessary expense. I bought the swaddlers at 1800diapers.com and now buy my huggies at Costco.

I don't have b/g twins, I have two boys, but, I figured I would put my 2 cents in anyway. We loved the swaddlers when they were newborns, but, when we went to switch to size 1, the boys broke out in a horrible rash from the diapers. We tried White Cloud and found that they were really hard and crunchy feeling and they just didn't fit right. We tried Luv's and have loved them ever since. They are alot cheaper than Huggies and Pampers, but, I've found they work just as well. I hope you find an inexpensive diaper that works for you since you will be going through them like water soon! :)
