The Party

    So, the party went well.

    At first there was a downpour, and I mean DOWN POUR. So everyone was inside for the magic show. I was a little stressed wondering if the rain would stop and I would have to have the kids inside the whole time. Then right as the show was ending so was the rain. I quickly moved everything outside and prepared for motivating everyone out as quick as possible. There was one person (I knew she would) who brought her two real LO's, and she did keep them out most of the time. I made it very clear it was an outside party. Towards the end her son came in and I told him to head on out, he didn't listen, so that was not to wonderful, but he was the only one. Then as the party was ending my husband and I made it very clear to the stragglers that would have stayed for hours (I know this because they have before) that we had to rest up because we had somewhere to be that night. It took a bit, but after several repeats of "we have to wrap this up" they were gone and we could take a sigh of relief. All in all, the party was a success, and my DD was SUPER happy with her party. I couldn't have asked for more. I really thank you all for your responses because it made me see that I wasn't out of line for the way I felt and gave me the room to really put my foot down to those who don't necessarily respect my wishes on how the party should go. Outdoor parties are the way to go (as long as the weather holds :good: )

    I'm glad it went well & that people stayed outside (for the most part). YAY for your dd turning 5!! I'm so glad she enjoyed her celebration :)
