This will probably be the most disgusting post I have ever posted---so I am sorry if TMI!

My girls are going through this stage of stripping off all clothes and diapers before and after they go potty. They aren't really playing in the mess but they are taking off everything and just running nude in their beds and their room. They actually pile their stuff in one part of the room and leave it alone . I can't tell you how much I have spent in cleaning supplies in the last three months nor how many times a day I have cleaned their beds, clothes, toys, floors, not to mentions how many baths per day. This is gross, well...... beyond gross!

Have any of you dealt with this and how did you get through it? What did you do to change it? I have tried the potty training thing, but I feel that it is still too early because all they want to do is play in the water cause they think that it is bath time. I know they love water, but this is too much!

    Help me, please!!!

If you are not ready for potty training then you need to find something they cant strip off. How about a onsie with a pair of coveralls or a jumper over it? Shirts and pants are too easily removied. Bedtime put pajamas on backwards. I am sure others will have suggestions for you as this seems to be a fairly common occurence at that age.

i have no suggestions (we're not there yet) but i think this was discussed recently. maybe you could search the posts if you don't get more suggestions.

best of luck. hopefully it's just a phase!

Have you tried masking or packing tape?

Tape around the diaper, it is not harmful and it saves you from cleaning and them from being stinky.

Yep, onsies, and duct tape around the diaper.
They will grow out of it, I promise!

If you do a search on stripping in 1-4 you'll probably find 14 pages of ideas!! I hope it passes quickly!!!

never tried the duck tape thing but it is worth a shot--lol. I have onesies that zip up and have feet. Avarey is my escape artist tho and can get her arm out of those then the rest is off. She has now figured out the zipper  .

Avarey has been the teacher on this one so now Aubrey is now the one I am cleaning up. This morning I had to redo the bed clothes, sanitize the bed, mop the floor, and bathe my little rugrat--lol. The new key word for this discusting time period is "EWWW" and that is what they say when the other has escaped their clothes and diapers. It is cute that they are talking but not so when the mess follows.

Any whoo! Thank you for all of your replies. I will be searching for those posts now--lol.
    Lots of love!

A good friend told me to duct tape their diapers on when we hit this stage (which thankfully we have not yet!)

I cant wait for this with my boys...NOT! My other kids all went through it and only one ever figured out how to get the duct tape off. I went to the hardware store and asked the guy for the stickiest, hardest to take off stuff. Im so glad to hear Im not the only one that does that! LOL

They will outgrow this I promise!!!

But until the do....DUCT TAPE. people laugh but until you have had to deal with it, IT WORKS! I just used a piece across the front to attach the two sides. I know people that have had to do the entire way around. My friend put diapers on backwards but her kid figured it out. I have another friend that duct taped the shirt to the diaper.

My boys are the kings of poop slinging!!! They usually do it at nap time. I am also trying to find the time to dive into potty training because all the signs are there it will just take some time (which I am lacking right at the moment). I make sure that they each poop twice (because they always do) before I even put them down for their nap. I also went back to putting onsies (snap crotch) on them and then pants and a shirt or a sleeper at nap time. At least this way they can't make as big of a mess by completely taking their diapers off. They can still reach in their diapers though  . It has gotten better over the last month.

duct tape (my girls are pee trained, but not poop trained yet. so i put diapers on for "naptime" and then they take them off. I still resort to duct tape if needed).

backwards pajamas - cut the feet off if you have to (it's hard to find footless jammies).
    backwards sleepsacks
clothes that are too hard for them to take off
wear backwards pj's during the day too!

Since they are piling stuff, try teaching them to put it in a waste basket. and leave a container of wipes next to it. Teach them how to use the wipes. They may not do it perfect, but i'll cut down on the mess.

OMG, this sounds like my two about 8 months or so ago! The only thing that helped us was duct tape! I used a one long strip that would tape the front part of their diaper and then smooth it around til it almost touched in the back. In the morning I'd usually have to cut the duct tape off so I could get the diapers off. I feel your pain. I never thought they'd quit getting into it and playing but the duct tape worked and then they just forgot about trying to get their diapers off. I think I quit using it maybe right around Thanksgiving last year. They'll quit eventually, but invest in lots of duct tape. Good Luck!
