Our teeth play a crucial role in our overall health, yet many people experience dental problems at some point in their lives. Understanding the most common teeth issues can help you prevent them and maintain a healthy, confident smile.

Cavities, also known as dental caries, are one of the most frequent dental problems. They occur when plaque—a sticky film of bacteria—builds up on teeth and produces acids that erode the enamel. Cavities can cause tooth pain, sensitivity, and even infections if left untreated. Brushing twice a day, flossing, and regular dental check-ups are key to preventing them.

Gum disease, or periodontal disease, affects the tissues surrounding the teeth. Early-stage gum disease, called gingivitis, leads to red, swollen gums that may bleed during brushing. If untreated, it can progress to periodontitis, causing gum recession, tooth loosening, and even tooth loss. Proper oral hygiene and routine dental cleanings are essential to prevent and manage gum disease.
