Let's face it. Twin pregnancies can be absolutely miserable. Lord knows I have expressed my misery here plenty of times.

So I decided after a mostly positive doctor's appointment yesterday to focus on some of the things that have gone right. I started off this pregnancy with severe nausea, heartburn, then a placenta previa, then a subchorionic hematoma....up until two weeks ago I wouldn't even paint the nursery. And I had heartburn and indigestion so badly that I could not eat past 2:00pm.

I know many of you have gone through the same if not worse.

So I thought it might make us feel better if we listed some of the good things that are happening. Here are a few of mine:

1.) I did not get gestational diabetes like they thought I would.
2.) My weight gain has been sure and steady in spite of a lot of sickness.
    3.) No edema (yet).
    4.) Thank goodness for Nexium.
5.) The babies are kicking up a storm.
6.) I got off bed rest in time to get the nursery done.
7.) I became very food aware and disciplined about not overeating (a habit I hope stays with me)
8.) The oxytocins and progesterone in my blood stream are very soothing
9.) I woke up one day and stopped caring what people think.

I would love to hear some of the positive mental, emotional, and physical things you all are experiencing in motherhood.

(By the way, I still have eight weeks to go, so I reserve the right to start wailing again at any time.)

    Thanks. Ma Kettle

Thank you for sharing!! You are right, sometimes it is hard to focus on the things that are going right, but it is very beneficial to do so both for you and your babies!!

Great post! It's so easy to start focusing on all the crappy stuff.

    Here's my list:

    1) we just moved into our new family home
    2) babies are healthy and their weights look good
    3) i am being kicked to death, but that means they're moving around
    4) my husband is all recovered from surgery now and he's doing an incredible amount of work supporting us and getting things done
    5) i am off work, so i don't have to stick to a strict schedule
    6) my friends and family have all been incredibly helpful and supportive
    7) I AM HAVING TWO BABIES IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS! sorry for the shouting, but that's pretty darn exciting!!!!

    I like it, too!

    1. The only "real" issue I've had so far (at 30 wks) is borderline GD. Babies are exactly the same in development, 1oz different in size, fluids levels match, and they look lovely.

    2. I'm happy w/ my doctors.

    3. I have GOOD insurance.

    4. I have a wonderful husband who goes to work every day, comes home with a respectable check, and then bats clean-up for me w/ DS and keeping up the house.

    5. My 3 y.o. is a lovely little guy who has helped make this pregnancy very easy.

    6. I can still wear shoes and most of my maternity clothes.

    7. Most of what I consider important pre-baby preparations are done. Bags are packed...lets roll.

    8. Great boobs!!

    9. My "Advanced Maternal Age" body has done a phenomenal job and I truly appreciate the wonder if it all.

    10. Two beautiful little boys are on their way!!!! (Three cheers for the third trimester!!!)

I could go on and on.....

I'm coming from a bit of a different persective, but I'm thankful every single day for this pregnancy. I realize how lucky I am to be carrying twins AGAIN, when I know that my sister would give ANYTHING to be in my shoes. Every kick I feel, every ache, every pain, makes me stop and realize how lucky I am to know and experience pregnancy.

I don't think anything I've done in my life has given me such a feeling of satisfaction as helping making my sister's dreams of becoming a parent a reality.

That being said, of course I had to remind myself of this a lot when I was vomitting every day! But the babies are growing and thriving and kicking and I'm just SO excited to give birth to my little niece and nephew!

I love this post!! Lemme try...

    1. The babies are gaining weight as they should be! In fact, the peri called one of them a "porker" LOL one of the girls are putting on more weight than her sister, but they are both where they should be so it's all good!
    2. Overall, no nausea, no morning sickness (suffered from this throughout the whole of my first pregnancy)
    3. My five year old is so super excited to be a big sister!
    4. We just moved to a bigger house and have gotten the nursery all done! Huge feat!
    5. No GD here, too!
    6. Thusfar, my blood pressure is good and there's no water weight gain and no signs of pre-e (had that with my first pregnancy) *knock on wood!*
    7. I have such a loving and supportive husband!!! (<--this should really be first on the list!)
    8. Babies are kicking lots!
    9. Feels like the weeks have flown by.. I can't believe I am so close to the end!

I am sure there's more but that'll do for now :)

    Okay. I will play.
    1. I made it to 36 weeks and 2 days and I am still pregnant.
    2. I did not get GD which is more than my sister can say.
    3. I have very little back pain.
    4. I never ended up on bedrest and worked until 33 weeks.
    5. I have a wonderful and helpful husband.
    6. I think I have my childcare situation under control.
    7. If all goes well I should leave the hospital with 2 healthy babies.
    8. We have an induction date to shoot for.

Thanks so much. That helped more than I thought. I haven't really been down about my pregnancy but, I was hoping she would let me be induced sooner and now realize how lucky I am to have made it this far.

    Great idea!
    1. Have a wonderful dh who has taken care of an active three-year old at all times when he is not at work since I have had some sickness issues... he does it with a smile, too.
    2. Getting new carpet this week.
    3. Have a fantastic three-year old who calls them "my babies."
    4. Healthy babies - on target for size and growth.
    5. Great family who helped me track down (for free or cheap) many of the things we will need (since we were done having children and gave away everything from our first child - lol0.
    6. Husband and I blessed to still have good jobs; and, I have a fantastic boss who is flexible... and a friend.

I just have one baby inside this time, but am about to my last month and feeling it. Still here goes...

I love knowing what an amazing thing my body is able to accomplish.
I'm loving all the movements of this little gymnast (even when they make me a little queasy). My DH says my belly looks "sci-fi-ish" when it's moving all over, but it's so miraculous and cool.
I love that my girlies talk about their baby brother all the time and how they're going to be mommies.
My big kids are so excited to have another little brother!
    DH loves my bustline!
My SIL is throwing me a diaper shower, since we already have most everything we'd need for a baby.

I love this idea! It makes me feel better already. Here's my list:

1)I have a very supportive hubby who has stepped it up to help with our two-year-old, house hold chores and me!
    2) I was able to work (teaching elementary) until 37 weeks!
    3) I'm now 37 weeks, 3 days and a c-section scheduled in one week!
    4) No GD
    5) Great BP
    6) Pregnant with healthy boy and girl who are only a few oz. apart in weight and are moving around like crazy
    7) No heartburn
    8) Was never put on bedrest
    9) The Amoxacilian (sp?) the dr. gave me for my congestion is helping
    10) Gained only 35lbs (since I was overweight to begin with, this is good for me)

Despite my discomforts, I feel very lucky to have had such a healthy pregnancy!

Guess it's my turn to try it out, i agree it could do us all some good:

*We're having 2 healthy, so far nice and BIG boys!
*My kids have been such a help
*I have a fabulous hubby that is not deployed this time around and has been so helpful!
    *Love the boobs!
*We have been so blessed with things people have given us for the twins
*This pregnancy has forced me to relax and put my feet up
*Its fun feeling two sets of feet kicking around, not just one
    *I'm more than halfway there!
*I'll get to spend the roundest most uncomfortable part of my pregnancy floating outside in the pool
*I've had this wonderful forum to help keep my sanity

    14. Feeling them move everyday
