I feel like crying.... This morning it was all good, I didnt even feel pregnant while I drove my daughter to school. Came home and ate and the stomach under the rib pain started.. Had my dr appointment today too. I had been waiting with this pain all week to see what he says. I felt like going to the hospital many times because it kills.. But I waited. At the appointment the pain wasnt to bad and he told me something like the pain is actually from the back ribs but feels like its in the stomach and that I should see a chiropractor..... I've never seen a chiropractor before. Does this sound right?? I have an ultrasound next week which he said he will get them to look at my gall bladder too... I feel like going to the hospital and getting answers there...

I had horrible terrible rib pain on my right side up high...it was so bad!!
I actually slept on ice packs! My dh is an exercise physiologist that works with an MD and a chiropractor and they determined that my rib was actually dislocated and there wasnt a darn thing I could do about it. :grr: I wanted to cry too. I feel your pain sweetie and I am sorry!!
If it's that bad it cant hurt to have it checked out, better safe then sorry!

I've had back rib pain since week 27 (I'm 29 wks now) and it is NON STOP AGONY. I found a chiropractor who does deep tissue therapy, like a physical therapist, and he stretches me out and gives me some relief. i also sit with pillows behind my back on the couch and a heating pad there in the evenings. Combined with pregnancy massages, this has all seemed to help me. GOOD LUCK.

as i said in your other thread, i think it can't hurt to see a chiropractor - especially considering the amount of pain you're in. they'll do an initial consultation/exam & then tell you what course of treatment they suggest. are you uncomfortable with the idea of seeing a chiropractor because you've never been before? or do you feel that your OB is way off track and that seeing a chiropractor isn't the answer?

I would go for a consultation and see what they say. I saw a chiropractor throughout my pregnancy.

I saw a chiropractor for both of my previous pregnancies for pain on the right side of my ribs. He would do an adjustment around my right shoulder blade and I'd be good for awhile until I had to go back in for another adjustment. It was quite uncomfortable/painful and the adjustment made the pain go away completely. I HIGHLY recommend seeing a chiropractor.

However, I will say that my midwife did warn me that pain on the right side can be an indicator of gall bladder problems which can be common during pregnancy. Mine was not my gall bladder though and the adjustment did the trick each time.

I'm 13 weeks pregnant with twins this time and I'm prepared to go in for an adjustment when my ribs start hurting. I warned my chiropractor this week when I was in for a neck adjustment that I'd be back soon enough...

Some people worry that a chiropractor could harm the baby/babies. My chiropractor would not adjust my lower back, etc. especially after a certain point in the pregnancy, but otherwise, he was fine doing neck and that shoulder blade adjustment.
Oh, and I had costochondritis (inflammation of the cartiledge between the rib and the spine or whatever) at around 35 weeks pregnant with my first and felt like I was having a heart attack. The doc checked for clots in the lung, etc. before diagnosing me. It was freaky scary. Chiro helped it. He pushed on something in my chest.
