The boys are here!

Hi ladies, I'm finally able to update...it's been kind of crazy here.
As you know, I was supposed to have a scheduled c-section Wednesday at noon. The babies had other plans. I was lying in bed trying to sleep...but was nervous about the section. At about 3:25 AM, I felt something very strange, like a really super powerful kick, that made me jump a little in bed and wake dh up. I thought, was that my water breaking? All was dry, so I kept lying there. Well, 5 minutes later, there was a HUGE and STRONG gush of LOTS of fluid, lol!!! Let me tell you, dh got out of that bed SO fast to get towels, LMBO!!!

I got all ready and was having some strong contractions. Ouch! I was dilated to about a 5 at this time.
We sped off to the hospital about 4:30, the entire time I was having painful contractions. We got to the hospital, and the doors were locked...we had to push the button to get access to the secured door. No one was comming to get it, and I was in so much pain from the contractions. I was so upset that they could do this to a woman in labor, lol! Thank goodness an employee was arriving to work and let us in!!! I'm soo gonna complain about this to my hospital! I was having such strong contractions out there!
I got in and was pretty much begging for my spinal. I had to sign papers while having all these horrible contractions. We finally got to a room and I was hooked up to the monitors, and for some reason they couldn't find baby A's heart beat for about 5 minutes, but it felt like an eternity! It was finally found and I was SO relieved! A minute later my doc came in and checked me. I was already dilated past 5, and increasing fast. Baby A was still bum down. He decided we needed to go to the operating room fast.
Within 5 minutes I was being prepped in the OR. I was SO SO nervous, I kept saying don't cut me until I'm numb! I'm such a big wimp, lol...I was so embarrassed by how I was whinning and all. The doc said I wasn't bad at all, that I was only a 2 on a 1-10 scale. I was shocked! I was so nervous the entire procedure, saying OH MY GOSH, the entire time, LOL!!!!

Anyway, the babies came out VERY FAST. Baby A was delivered at 5:47, weighing a healthy 6 lbs, 12 oz and measuring a whopping 21 1/4 inches long! Baby B was delivered at 5:48, only slightly smaller than his brother, comming in at 6 lbs, 7 oz and 21 inches even. I can't believe they were born only a minute apart!
The sad thing is, I only got to hear them cry. I didn't get to even see them until about 2 hours later. I was still so groggy, that I didn't remember that at all. I was knocked out after the delivery. Ughh!

Both babies are really healthy, but we've had an issue with Baby B not getting enough oxygen on occasion. He was in the NICU overnight. They've determined that it's just acid reflux. Still, a scare for us though. I'm just sitting here in the hospital waiting for them to bring him up from the NICU now. I feel as though I haven't even seen him ever, because I was WAY groggy when I saw him. So it will be neat to see him for what feels like the first time.
The doctor is prescribing zantac for the acid reflux. Actually, both twins will get it. Baby A has a slight problem with it, too.
I'm in some pain, but got up and took a shower this AM. It was really hard getting out of bed for the first time.
I wish I could've enjoyed my labor, but I didn't. It was too much of a surgical procedure for me, not like a birth. But, I'm thankful for c-sections, since these guys were in bad positions. It was definitely the safest and best way to get them out. I can't even imagine trying to birth a baby bum first!!! Yikes!
One last thing. My doctor was here at the hospital very early because he had delivered another set of twins an hour earlier. The REALLY crazy thing, is that the mother of those twins just happened to be the SIL of my very good friend! LOL! I didn't even know she had the same doctor as me!!! LOL!!! It's a small world, that's for sure!

Congratulations! :Clap: Wow, what a delivery that sure was! I'm glad everything turned out okay. The boys are just precious and you look great! All 3 of my kids had reflux and was controlled by meds. Good luck.

You guys are great, thanks so much!!! I am so exhausted these days, life was sooo much easier in the hospital, lol! Now I'm home and although I have dh's help, it's crazy busy! The twins make 6 for us!
