The Best Oct. 8th Ever!

After 39 weeks 3 days and6 hours of waiting we came to the hospital on Oct. 8th to be induced. After getting set up and getting that awful IV the doctor came in to do an ultra sound and one of my little acrobats had turned breech so we discussed options. The hubby and I decided to go on with the C-Section, i seemed to be in our and the babies best interest. As soon as we made our decision we were whisked away on our magical journey of shaving, a cathedar (sp?) and a spinal block!! The C-section wasn't that bad and went very quickly!! Grant Aaron was born at 8:48am and Eva Margaret was born at 8:49. Dad then left me with the very nice anesthesiologist and went off to clean up our little ones. Grant weighed in at 7lb 2 oz/21 in. and Eva was 6lb. 12 oz./19 in. Both babies were healthy and had full heads of hair (one of my biggest concerns!!) I was then taken to our room and the meet and greets began. I just feel so lucky to have two little ones. Twins are truly a blessing. We leave the hospital tomorrow. I learned the hard way not to try and be a hero and take myself off of my pain meds (they are there for a reason!!). Breastfeeding has been going a lot better then I had envisioned. I can't believe how much they change in just a few days. Grant has been deemed "hedgehog" (check out the hair) and my nickname for our lovely daughter is "Eva the DIVA" She craves attention and has kept us on our toes.
