The Belated Birthday Report

I guess I'm not quite ready to move on the the 1-4 Forum. I should have posted about my girls' birthday a week ago, but I've been putting it off. Maybe I'm hesitant to move on because the girls are more like 10-month-olds developmentally. I may bounce back and forth with my postings for a while since some of the questions I have still seem appropriate to this forum.

We had a family party for them at noon on Christmas Eve. I can tell that it's going to be a struggle to make their birthdays special with all the holiday stuff going on at the same time. The girls 12 month well baby visit was the 30th. We were shocked that they aren't closer to 17 pounds. The doctor seemed a bit concerned (particularly about Karina), but not enough to have us change anything we are doing. He said they are continuing to grow, so that's what's important. He said it's just likely they won't be giants.

Stats:

Annelise
Birth - 2 pounds, 13 ounces (at 30w4d), 17 inches, 8 weeks in the NICU
12 months - 16 pounds, 2 ounces, 26 1/4 inches, 2 teeth, pulling to stand

Karina
Birth - 2 pounds, 13 ounces (at 30w4d), 16 inches, 8 weeks in the NICU
12 months - 15 pounds, 11 ounces, 27 inches, 6 teeth, cruising along furniture (as of yesterday)

The past year has really been great. My girls are healthy and we feel blessed. I really appreciate all the support and advice I've received from TS. I haven't posted as much since I went back to work full time, but it's comforting to know you are all still here if I need you and I do pop in at least once a day to read a few posts.

Beth, many people have done exactly this! You are more than welcome to hang out. We love having you . They are beautiful girls and I'm glad they have been progressing well.

 

Wow they are adorable! I think I remember one of your girls needing a helmet. I wouldn't be able to tell which one had it. Amazing!!! Happy Birthday to them!!!

 

Happy Birthday!! I'm sure you guys will figure out a way to make the girls' b-day "pop out" over the Christmas stuff eventually! Maybe even have their party earlier in December or something? And then have a small family party on their actual b-day?

Anyway, they are ADORABLE!! Looks like they enjoyed their cake!!
