i fill it all the way up, almost to the top! of course i don't leave them for a second. after i bathe them, i sit back and watch them play. i just can't imagine only giving them a few inches of water to play in :pardon: they LOVE water, and swimming pools, and a super filled tub with lots of bubbles!
just wondering what everyong else does.

I used to go just below the belly button until they were really really good about not slippin and slidin all around. Now we go about chest level. I just can't stand the flood if I fill it any more than that. We don't do bubbles. I have one that fuh-reaks out if she can't see her legs. We do have mermaid Barbies and colored tub tints though.

We alternate with bubbles and regular bath. We fill it to just about their belly button.

Only a little higher than their belly button, which for the girls' bathtub there's a little thing that you flip to let the water out and I fill it up to there. That gives them room to get on their bellies and pretend to swim, something they love to do, and the water still covers their hinnies when on their belly.

I fill the tub about half way. The still have plenty of water to swim around in and have fun, but not so much that it sloshes all over and floods the bathroom.

I do this too. I feel bad if I give them too little (especially in the winter) because I think they will get cold. I've always made it so the water comes to about 1/2 way between their tummy button and nipples.

Just above the belly button, not too much gets splashed over the sides that way. Plus, our bathroom has separate heat, so I always turn it up so it's nice & warm in there so they don't need quite as much water.

I do a few inches. I always bathe them in the tub in the master bathroom and it is a big jetted tub. It would take 10 minutes to fill it to half way! Plus, I like to let the water drain out before rinsing them off so they don't get soapy again, so again it would take too long to drain if it was any fuller. Always done it that way so mine don't mind...

about to their belly buttons too they like to lay on their backs so i try for enough that they can lay back and their faces not be covered

Usually I fill just above their belly buttons, but sometimes a bit higher, especially if my little string bean is cold that evening. :)

Sarah has recently developed a fear of the tub overflowing, so she won't let me fill in higher than about her belly button. Amy would love more water, but since I bathe them separately (because they fight too much if they're together), I give her about the same amount. Even so, I usually blow through all the hot water by the time they're both done.

No deeper than navel level here. It seems wasteful to me to use more water than that. They have plenty to splash and play and can recline with their faces out of the water (a favorite activity). For deep water fun, we head down to the hot tub.

It depends if I get distracted while filling the tub! On those nights its deep (about an inch above their belly b's). When I'm paying attention though, I usually aim for a few inches (right below their belly buttons).

NOTE: The girls are not *in* the tub while filling, so if I get distracted running around the house while the tub is filling, the only danger is that I will have a very wet bathroom floor. ;)

I only start filling it after they're already in the tub, so we're usually done with the bath by the time it's filled halfway -- and then I drain it and rinse them off with the hand shower, because I have some phobia about getting out of the tub all soapy.
