The baby-potty isn't big enough

Well, the darn thing is not big enough. My boys are absolute PEANUTS, so I don't understand how this contraption could work for any average-sized BOY. When they are sitting on the potty I have to practically mangle their poor penises to point it down into the cup, and then it's squished up against the front of the potty. The boys are sooo uncomfortable that they don't want to sit at all. I don't blame them.

    Need a clue...please advise.

Okay, I thought the same thing too. When we were first trying out the potty, I thought that Ben would NEVER fit on that thing. His poor tummy and thighs were so big there was no room for anything else.

BUT, when he actually went on the potty for the first time (he used the potty seat/lid on top of the regular potty), he got the hang of it immediately. He scoots super far back, gets his two pointer fingers on his penis, and pushes that little bad boy down (he is a pound shy of 40 pounds now and STILL uses that potty seat). He has only missed a couple times!

Anyways, I don't know HOW he does it, but he does. Just wanted to give you some encouragement. I was determined that he would NEVER learn to use a potty because he couldn't even fit on it! I was sorely mistaken!!!

My guys hated the potty chairs, and they liked the ring that fit in the toilet bowl at first, but it was too little after a while. So, they threw it out and just started using the potty without the ring.

Thanks, Kate that is encouraging. My guys are 24 pounds SOAKING WET....so I simply can't understand how it could be 'too small' for them, but I see no way for them to comfortably sit on the damn thing.

We're not really ready for full-on 'training' just yet...I just wanted something there acclimation's sake. I just couldn't see them associating anything good with that penis-crushing torture chamber. :p

I took the cup part off of mine because it was more trouble than help. They just have a flat seat. I don't know what kind of chair you have but we use Fisher Price musical chairs (that have had a batteryectomy). They know to point down (thanks, slightly older male cousin!) and that's all that is required to avoid a mess.

The potty rings usually have a removeable cup also (and one of ours works well, the other has the cup removed). The one that works is a Pooh print with blue side handles & cup -- I'm pretty sure I got it at BRU. It also has little rubbery pads that help prevent sliding. Highly recommend this seat. The one that doesn't work so well came from Wal-Mart and is very basic with a Sesame Street print.

You might want to consider a different potty seat. We had the Munchkin Potty Seat and it seemed too small. Now we have two Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainers and one Baby Bjorn Potty Seat. Noah prefer the chair, while Aiden will sit on the trainer. I really like the Toilet Trainer-- it tightens on the seat and is larger enough to sit on comfortably.
