tonight i had to laugh out loud as i fed them. it was like a 3 ring circus. One of my sons cried because he did not get the food fast enough (he will be learning how to be patient early on!).

Do you use one or two spoons, one or two bowls, a bowl that has a divider in the middle??? when you give cereal and a veg at the same time, then do you have 4 bowls to deal with???????

I am looking for the easiest way to make this work for the next months to come!!!!!

It can be a three ring circus! What I did was use two bowls, and one spoon. One bowl had cereal (rice or oatmeal) and the other was the fruit or veggie. I'd put half cereal and half fruit/veggie on the spoon and feed. The more practice you have the better and more efficient it'll be. I remember those days when you couldn't feed them fast enough! Good luck!

You have to be fast like the ninja.

I use one spoon, but keep the different types of food seperate for now. Once we figure out who likes what, then I will mix what I can to cut down on the amount of bowls.

one more thing...if they share a bowl, how do you know who ate how much. RIght now one of my guys eats more than the other and i like to keep track. Or, does it maybe all even out though as they get more used to eating and they will be eating an equal amount

I give James a bite and Sean a bite, back and forth. I'm not too terribly worried about equal amounts just yet, I'm still at the "does he like this?" stage.

One spoon, one bowl, here!! I mix it all together...they really don't seem to mind!! Jacob consistently eats more than Emma. But I try to start off each feeding, giving one a bite, then the other a bite....by the end, Jacob is the only one eating!! [IMG]

one bowl or jar and one spoon here too unless DH is around to help...I mix my fruit and cereal together in one large bowl and switch off bites...same if I'm feeding them veggies out of a jar...

you can't shovel the food in my daughters mouth fast enough she starts grunting and turning red and I swear she unhinges her jaw when she opens her mouth [IMG]

one bowl and one spoon here too. i mix fruit and cereal. like this AM i mixed in a jar of applesauce with their oatmeal. The love it just fine. I alternate one bite each back and forth. Mine are piglets and pretty much finish off whatever I give them, so I am not worried that one is getting more than the other. if i have 2 totally seperate foods (like applesauce and sweet potatos) then i still only use one spoon and just switch off between the foods.

it's fun and messy, but you will get the hang of it!

I use one bowl and one spoon and mix everything together. Usually in the morning one of the boys will eat more than the other but I am not really that worried about amounts right now. I just want to make sure that they are gaining weight. Plus, Evan has always been a bigger eater and is bigger anyway so I figure he needs more calories/food to keep him satisfied! [IMG]

I use a divided bowl/plate and another bowl with cereal and one spoon and alternate bites between the two. She thinks eating is a game and spits it at you and he has a heart attack that I'm not feeding him fast enough.

My mom thinks I should use separate spoons and bowls for each but that is a dream! Ha! Like I have time for that! And, my mother in law, who also had twins (my husband and his brother) fed them with one bowl and one spoon.

I used the bowl with a divider in it!! It worked great!! Found them at BRU or the grocery, I think....

ONE SPOON, ONE BOWL and shovel as fast as possible!! Ahhh the memories! Ahhh the times when they ate veggies....

I do one spoon, one bowl, and just mix the cereal and fruit or veggie (or all three) in the same bowl. Then one gets one a bite then the other. They cry in between bites when I'm not fast enough, but unless I develop superhuman speed, they are just going to have to learn to be patient.

Same as everyone else...one bowl/jar and one spoon and GO FAST!!! Berkley has quite a temper and doesn't like sharing so if I don't shovel it into Emerson's mouth as fast as possible and get back to her she FREAKS!!!!

We're the same as everyone else... one bowl, one spoon, and go as fast as you can... Rob gets inpatient while Russ gets distracted!

well, tonight we tried your suggestions! ONE spoon and ONE bowl (with a divider). i had cereal on one side and veg. on the other. SUCCESS! Who would think you could be so excitd about figuring out something as little as this!

Sidenote; everything was going great with that feeding until Nicholas get so tired he almost fell asleep as i was feeding him. With twins, there is always something! [IMG]

I'll add something in here. I use one bowl for the cereal and the fruit/veggie right out of the jar. I have long fingers so I can hold both in one hand. The spoon is in the other. What I DON'T have is something to hold up in front of me when one of them SNEEZES carrots everywhere!!!!! [IMG]

We tried the different colors for ea...then it got to be too much with the lack of sleep. We went to one of everything, except the beverage of choice. We have one of each and are very healthy eaters. One key note, my kids never had baby food...a friend got us a black n decker mini food processor. Ice cube trays for small amounts for at first, then we used vaccum sealer for little packets for the freezer. That made it great for ice packets for daily outings.
    Hope this helped

I guess I'm the oddball here, I have always used separate bowls and spoons for them. I make them each their own dish etc. Until they started eating table foods I fed them separately, it was just easier. Now that they are eating some table food they can munch on puffs, cheerios, pancakes, while I spoon feed the other.

    Hi
I am joining Amy in this. Since the girls are only on cereal until Fri(our 6 month appt. and hopefully go ahead with jarred baby food) they are on different kinds of milk and they can't eat each others cereal. If they are hungry I can hold two small bowls (1st step I think) and give each a bite at a time. If I have waited too long and they are REALLY hungry I feed them 1-2 oz of milk and then do the spoon feeding.

I had to LOL, because mine are the same way. Brooklyn (who weighs 5lbs. less than Braden) FREAKS out when I go to give a bite to Braden...I am thinking "share" will be one of our first words!

When y'all add fruit and cereal, do you add a little water as well or does it seem okay?
