That's what I get for listening to DH

T&T's new bedtime game is to make a joke of calling me. They'll say, "Mama, where are you? Pee-pee grape!" and then giggle. There were variants including poo-poo and other assorted foods. I have no idea where they come up with this stuff. Anyway, after 10 minutes of silliness, Trevor starts saying "pee-pee potty" instead of a food and I started to go up when DH said he went right before bed, shouldn't need to go again, and was just playing and if I went in, he'd take it as a win and that would be the new game. He was asleep 10 minutes later. Well, 2 hours passed and Trevor's up again whining for a cup of water. I went in and as I handed him the water, he handed me his diaper. He took a swig of water and I put him back in his diaper and shorts... then he informed me that his bed was wet. Not where he was sleeping, no, in the corner where he'd gone intentionally because I didn't go in when he called. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Yep! Don't listen to DH. No offense to the DH's, but we're usually around them more and can tell when they are serious or joking. Ugh, sorry you had to change the bed!
BTW, the potty humor has been starting big time! Yesterday it was "I going to poop on _______" followed by hysterical laughter.

Oh yes, the lovely poop jokes. We have those here too and they laugh hysterically. Usually they do their potty talk in their rooms away from me, because if I catch them doing it in front of me, I tell them they have to go the the bathroom to talk like that. Sometimes they take me up on it, and other times they don't and just stop.

But man, he seriously peed in his crib. Oh man. When we were potty training, I would pretty much take them even if it was a bluff. I figured it would be a short phase to endure (although it was trying), and to just take them was the easiest solution for us at the time.

I'm gathering that the bathroom humor gets worse before it gets better. Oh joy. I don't know about sending them to the bathroom, though. They LOVE being there (lots of running water) and that might actually be a reward in their eyes.

As for peeing in the crib, I was thinking about it and this might also be directly related to DH trying to be helpful. Trent woke with a dry diaper the morning before this incident and DH made a HUGE deal about how great it was to keep the diaper dry. Sounds harmless enough but maybe Trevor was doing his best to keep his diaper dry.
