This is what "Seamusnicholas" wrote to my post :)

I just started CIO on Tuesday and it is a miracle to see it work. They each wake 2 times (at different times) to eat at night. Before Tues, they ate 6-8 oz every 4 hours. they go to bed at 7 and then they woke between 10-12am for another bottle AND then 2 times during the night. THey also have solids 2 times a day. I finally realized they are eating out of habit and i could not do it anymore physically. These boys are big boys and are in no way lacking nutrition!

On Tues, when they usually wake for their 1st middle of the night feeding, I let them CIO. I did not feel bad at all when I heard them cry. THis is because I knew they just ate and diaper changed. One slept right through the others cry and then the next hour the reverse happened. I also did not feel bad because i made the decision to CIO because I was so tired and it felt great to not get up and get a bottle! THey basically cried on and off throughout the night.

THe next night, they slept until 4 (huge for us!) and then i had them CIO. THey woke at 6:00 and were ready for their bottle. The good thing is they ate 4 8oz bottles that day. THey had room since they were not getting calories at night.

Last night they woke at 5:30 and i had them CIO until 6:00.

This feels amazing! WHen i get them in the morning they are happy! Also, their morning naps the past 3 days have been longer than 35 minutes!

    -----------------------------------------------

We never went in to sooth them. I always feltlie that would be taking a step backwards and they would expect me to come in when they cried. I wanted them to teach themselves how to fall asleep on their own and how to go back to sleep on their own after waking inthe middle of the night.

They totally sleep through each others cry to this day.

ALso interesting was that I have heard if they wake to eat and it is just a little, it is out of habit. My boys though were eating a lot at night. Well, I stopped feeding them anyways. My boys are in the higher weight percentile and my Dr. said they wont turn into skeletons if I dont feed them in the middle of the night! So, even though my boys drank full bottles at night, with a few days of CIO, they dont wake to eat anymore.

Yeah! I am so happy for you. My sister walked me through the process since she did it not long before me. Every little tip and piece of advice helps. :)

Well, I must try this, my DD stills wakes up at night she has only slept through the night 2 times. Do you just let them cry and for how long. Please can I have some help too. I would love to sleep through the night. The other baby sleeps through the night since chritmas.

    Hi Susie,
The first night my boys cried on and off all night. If you do the true CIO, you cant go in to comfort them because then they expect you to come the next time they cry. It was really difficult but it needed to be done. Each night after got less and less. Good luck.

The first night was the hardest i would go in and check to make sure they were not stuck and that they were just crying but i did it by crawling on hands and knees and peeking between the matress and the bumper so they wouldent see me
Every night was better and now if they cry at all its just for a few seconds and they put them selves right back to sleep :lazy:
Good Luck!!! just be strong and let them cry its worth it in the end :)

hi hott to trott...i missed the advise on how to get your twins to sleep through the night. One wakes and then the other wakes with all the cring, so I pop a bottle in thier mouth. Not what I want to be doing. They are 9 months, so any advise would be so appriciated. Thanks so much in advance :)
