Thank you for the DR?

I am about to have my 4th and my OB/family practitioner has delivered all of my children. I would like to make/give her a nice thoughtful thank you but am not a creative person and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what would be appropriate. Gifts are expected in the culture that I grew up in but I'm not sure what would be appropriate here in the states and don't want to do anything embarrassing that oversteps. I was thinking of some kind of collage of pictures of the kids that she could hang up on the bulletin board she has in her office? What do you think?

My OB has a hundred kid photos up...if yours doesn't, I'd wonder why?

Either cut flowers or a flowering plant (at this time of year, a Christmas cactus is nice and they don't smell so they won't bother people with allergies) is usually appreciated.

I'm not creative either. We ended up buying a cookie bouquet for our Dr. with a few special cookies for his kids. We brought cookies and bagels for the nurses on the labor/delivery floor.

A flowering plant would be a great idea.
They also come in a very wide range of prices, so you can decide what to spend, but even the small and cheap ones look nice.

My past ob/gyns and my current midwives have all had TONS of pictures up. The only doctor I ever gave a picture to was the one who delivered my twins...and that was a picture of her holding the twins the next day. I figured that was at least a little more unique than the plain baby pictures. But I think the plant idea is a great one or sending flowers...or some kind of fruit/food basket of some sort. I'm sure with a busy schedule easy, pre-packaged snacks would be greatly appreciated. And if there is something in there she can't eat or won't eat she'll have plenty of people in the office to share with who will appreciate it too.

You could ask one of her staff members if she is a coffee lover...just trying to think of something a little different, but any real coffee lover would appreciate a new mug and some type of gourmet coffee goodies. :)
