TERRIFIED SOON TO BE FIRST TIME MOMMY!

Discussion in 'Pregnancy Help' started by Countrygirlky8, Dec 19, 2008.

 I'm about to be a mom of twins, this is my first pregnancy ever and I'm terrified. I'm 26 1/2 weeks pregnant with a boy and a girl, my body hasn't been reacting the best to the babies and neither has my mind. Don't get me wrong I am so excited about being a mom its something I've always wanted, I'm just scared of the health risks involved. I'm not going to lie I am a huge worry wort, I've got major anxiety issues. I've heard about how some women get blood clots in their legs, and then during childbirth....yeah I'm sure you know what happeneds especially if it hasn't been caught. I've read the symptoms of DVT and honestly think I may have a clot in my leg. There is this red spot on my quadracept just above my knee that wont go away, its hard, and it itches all around. I told my doctor but since he is a military doc he ignored it. I've now had this spot on my leg for a good month now. I honestly don't think I am over reacting to it, I think it should be looked at just in case. I'm so worried that I wont make it during the birth of my two miracles. I've asked to be checked for DVT but the doctor says no. I mean come on I feel like I'm being neglected and should be given the proper tests just in case, especially when they think that something could already be wrong with my heart. Yeah when I move to Chicago next month and switch OB's I'm going to have to see a cardiologist because I've got a very rapid heart beat. How can I convince my new doctor to test me for blood clots, cause if not I'm going to lose it. I'm not crazy believe me I really am not, I'm just so terrified especially when I have symptoms. Please if anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it with all my heart. God bless, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

:wavey: and welcome to Twinstuff. Congrats on your twins. I am so sorry you are dealing with all this worry. I wish I had some answers for you. Why do they think you have something wrong with your heart? Can you get a second opinion? Maybe go to a different doctor to see if they'll take a look at your spot? Good luck to you.

congratulations on your twin pregnancy! :yahoo:

I think having fears are TOTALLY normal. I was a first time mom as well & was pretty much petrified for my entire pregnancy!!
As for the heart & the clot questions I would definitely call my Dr. again & let them know of my fears & how you are feeling or as Liz said get a 2nd opinion from another Dr.

Hang in there!!

3. Is it also normal to feel like that something has pushed your chest in? I cant breath in far at all cause it hurts too much, I know its not a chest cold. I'm scared. I am like so tired of being scared that something bad will happen to me!

With twins, there's not as much room for your lungs. And if you're like me, by now you're about the same size as a woman normally is at full term with just one. It's hard to take a deep breath, because those babies are taking up all the space. That's one thing I vividly remember while laying in bed shortly after my girls were born (at almost 38 weeks)... how good it felt to breathe really deep!

Hi there
I'm also 26 1/2 weeks, and these 2 little ones will be my first, just like you. I also have shortness of breath, and get really really tired with only little activity. When I start to worry I tell myself that millions of women do this every day, so I should try to take things in stride. For the DVT I'm not sure what to say, I doubt the red spot is related but if you're doctor is not listening to you you should definitely get a second opinion. Personally if I feel this big and I get this tired, I'm wondering how I will make it till the end!
Anyway I'm right where you are, excited and nervous too..
Hang in there!
