Hello all!!! I need your help with my three year old. He has been sleeping in bed with me at least half the night since he was a baby. As a baby he had REALLY bad reflux and I couldn't prop his mattress up high enough to help, so he ended up on me. As he got older I tried CIO to get him to sleep in first his crib, then a toddler bed and then a twin bed on the floor. I can get him to go to sleep in his bed if I lay down next to him and have music playing and lay there long enough for him to get into a deep sleep. But, even then in the middle of the night he will wake up and walk through the house and climb down the stairs to come get in bed with me. He has been doing this so long, I no longer notice when he gets into my bed, I just sleep right through it. This whole procedure came to a big head last night. All three of my boys were camping with their grandpa on my parents four acres. David went to sleep in a zippered tent with his brothers. My dad was outside with them sleeping in the back of their van. My mom said that David somehow ended up in bed with her inside the house sometime in the middle of the night. That means that in the dark he unzippered the tent, walked across the yard at least 200yards, opened the door to the house, climbed up the stairs and into bed with my mom all in the pith black. That is just outright dangerous!!!!! Does anyone have any ideas how I can get him to go to sleep in his bed and STAY there all night? I have tried putting up two gates at his doorway so he can't get out but then he just cries and screams so hard he wakes his brothers and due to Anthony's illness I just can't have that happening. Thanks in advance for any help!!!

I have NO IDEA!!! That's so very scary! Is he sleep walking or aware of what he's doing? You might have to separate he and Anthony so that you can lock him in. Really it's for his own safety at this point!

Jessy is this way unless she is sleeping with Jazz.

Put a child lock on his bedroom door handle so he can't open it up and set up a routine where you leave him while he's awake and tell him he needs to stay in his bed. If he doesn't wear diapers at night, you can tell him to call for you when he has to go to the bathroom.

I recently had to put back on the lock on my guys door (it was there since 1 yrs old) because David wouldn't go to sleep and he'd be out every 10 minutes with an endless list of questions or requests for a couple of days.
