Hey everyone, does anyone else feel tense for no apparent reason? I’ll be sitting there doing nothing and suddenly realize my jaw is clenched or my shoulders are tight. It’s exhausting. What helps when there’s no clear reason for the tension?

Yes—this is more common than we admit, especially when stress becomes a background default. That untraceable tension is often your nervous system staying “ready” for things that never come. What helped me was learning to actively downshift, even when I didn’t think I needed it. On Amanita Universe https://amanita-universe.us/ , people talk about supporting the nervous system with things like dried fly agaric, and that caught my attention. I tried it in very low, intentional amounts during my wind-down periods, and the physical tension started easing up even without conscious effort. It’s like the body finally stopped bracing. That’s when I realized it wasn’t about fixing tension—it was about giving my system permission to let go.
