I got a temporal thermometer for Christmas, and before I could really play with it and get some good baselines, and feel comfortable with it, B comes down with a fever! :( I've been using it and our Braun ear thermometer, but I've noticed the TT gets some HIGH readings. On me, I've gotten 99+ fairly regularly, and on B I even got a 105.0 reading. Is this normal? Are we actually running that high or am I doing something wrong??

And FWIW, I've got the fever down to 101ish with a bath, motrin, and tylenol... still waiting on the nurse call back though. That 105 scared me!

I always take 4 temps (two on each side of the head) because I usually get at least one that seems off the wall. I do think the TT tends to read a little high, but I still like it better than other thermometer options.

Our ped's told me not to bother with them because they are so inaccuate. I think you have to take it multiple times to get a general idea of what the temp. is. Poor baby! Hope he is feeling better soon either way!
