    Good Morning Ladies,
I've only had to take their temperature twice and they'll be three in January, so last night I forgot where the best place to take the temperature is(butt, armpit) and what temperature is cause for concern. Please help, thanks!!

armpit isn't very reliable unless you are able to get them super still, I'd use a temporal or ear thermometer. And no, 100.5 isn't that big of a deal. Treat w/ fluids and tylenol/motrin if they're uncomfortable. HOnestly though, I ususally let a 100.5 fever run its course. Hope your little ones feel better soon!

Rectal is the most reliable but you can do the armpit but add a degree. 100.5 is nothing to worry about. I do not give my girl's fever reducers since a fever is the body's natural way of killing the germ so I let them run their course. If they get to 103, I start to watch it closely and treat with a bath. At 104, I would call the doctor.

Just repeating both wise posters. 100.5 is not anything big. I, too, would probably just let the body fight it on it's own at this temp. A little higher and I'd go the Ibuprofin/tylenol round. though, it's always sad to have sickies!

Yup, our doc says not even to call or worry till it gets to 104/105ish, and/or it has lasted for more than several days. 100.5 is very low grade.

Agree with all the pps. I generally will check temp under the armpit (add a degree) if they feel warm. If it reads (with the degree) near 102 then I check rectally to make sure I'm getting an accurate reading. Unless the fever is close to 102, I don't do much. Over 103 to 104, and it doesn't come down within 24 hours of treating with tylenol/motrin then I generally take them in.
