My LOs have been drinking water from sippy cups (mostly practicing) for a few months now. They're really good at holding them and sucking on them, but they don't tilt them very high so I have to keep them pretty full or they'll just suck air. It's not a big deal now since it's just water and they really don't drink much anyway, but when I give them EBM (I'm trying to skip bottles completely) or eventually when they start drinking cow's milk, I don't want to fill it up and waste half of it. They do ok with the straw cups...maybe I should just switch to them? Or will they eventually get the hang of tilting the sippy back far enough? How full do you keep yours? Any tricks to help them tilt?

My 2 always got EBM. Once they started holding their own bottles, I put them in their boppys so it would force the sippy to be tilted back. Now they can do it either way but you might have them lay back if they don't get it yet. But if I were you and they do straws already, I'd just switch over to straws all the time. I wish mine could figure out straws!

We went to straw cups after dropping the bottles, we discovered that in the morning, they do not finish a whole sippy of milk and switched to half a sippy (about 5 oz), at bedtime they will drink a whole sippy full of milk. Good luck!!!

My twins use the 10 ounce sippies. I fill them up with eight ounces of milk. They get two sippies a day; one in the morning and one in the evening. They always finish them. Good luck.

You could try straw sippies, since they don't need to tilt them back. They'll get the hang of it eventually. If mine don't finish their milk, I just put it in the fridge and offer it later. I find mine don't always finish their milk with their meals, but if I let them have them while they are playing, they will finish them.
