my little guys got their first tooth on the same day, now one has two and the other is working on it. but omg. they will not nap, they sleep for half hour incriments at night. some nights they get up at like two SCREAMING and then don't go back to sleep at all.. i dont even know what day it is.. i know they are in pain. but this is rediculous.

someone humor me and tell me it gets better.

 It gets better! Or at least it did for us. My girls were really fussy and in such bad moods for the first 2 teeth (bottom middle teeth) but I haven't noticed any signs of irritability for any of the other teeth - they just drool and chew on things when they are teething now.

 Baby Orajel and Tylenol is working wonders for our boys. They are miserable too, both getting a top tooth now, but thank god they both have the 2 bottom teeth I honestly think those are the worse. It does get better. My motto "This too shall pass!"

All babies are soo different, with DS we didn't even know he was teething until it popped through. And with DD she is usually pretty good, but right when the tooth is break through she screams. Tyleonl, orajel, teethers, soothers and frozen grapes in mesh feeders work really well for my LOs.
Good luck - it will get better!

Sorry to be the bearer of HORRIBLE news but that's a blip on the radar screen. Wait until they get molars. I didn't even "feel" any of the other teeth coming in. Molars.. I've almost completely lost my mind. It's insanity.. mayhem.. And it goes on FOREVER.

Mine have been teething since February 24, 2008 when I discovered their two bottom teeth were already in!! (That's cuz they acted the exact same as always.. not a single problem.) They have been getting one or more teeth ever since but it hasn't really been an issue..tho with molars---- it is definitely something no one could've ever prepared me for.

There will be a day hiatus every couple of days but for the most part, it's just tough. They are in soo much pain when they get molars that I was told even Ibuprofen cannot stop the hurting.

FYI- Motrin is best for teething if baby is over 6 months old as it is an anti inflammatory, Tylenol is not.

I'm sorry. Good luck! We all go through it :)

I have found that those q-tips with the orajel or whatever inside work best for my kids. They are also teething right now, and baby B was up 5 times last night crying. ugh, I'm tired today.

I agree - Motrin is so much better if they are over 6 months. Also, I do not like Orajel. The teething tablets are so much better. They are natural and I don't know what's in them but my girls calm down almost immediately. The Orajel has that weird numbing thing and the tablets don't at all.

Motrin before bed, orajel and teething tablets - nothing really helps though. It does get better. DS1 only had trouble with the eye teeth so far and DS 2 with the bottom teeth (of course not at the same time and it lasted weeks). We've still got a long way to go. I think the waking up with teething is almost as bad on us moms as the early weeks. I, at least, got teased with STTN for a little while before it all started and was just miserable going back to being a walking zombie. It has been better so far, but I too have been warned about the molars.
