I talked with a friend of mine this morning about my girls drooling a whole lot and licking and chewing on their hands a Lot. They won't take their soothies 80% of the time they're in that kind of mood [they were working for a while]. She said that it sounded like what babies do when they start to teeth..

When's the EARLIEST you've ever heard of babies starting to teeth?

I swear that Evan is teething. The twins didn't get their first teeth until around 7 months so I'm hoping it is not teeth, but his fist is always in his mouth lately. Drool & chewing. Of course they can teeth for months before any teeth come in. I have been helping some with tylenol.

Thing is, they're not bothered by it at all - they just 'go to town' on their hands. They act like their hands are cherry flavored or something, lol. Not sure what to do. Maybe just keep cloths handy to keep wiping their mouths and washing their hand regularly.

I've heard of people being born with teeth! It's possible to teeth early. Also, it's possible that they could teeth for a while before they come in.

Mine did that at 2 months as well and I thought the same thing, but they are now 6 months and still no teeth. They were even born with teeth buds, but no teeth yet. Anyway, I found out that babies' saliva goes into overdrive at about 2 months and they can't swallow that much, so they drool most of it out. Also, they are just discovering their hands at that age. Well, they are like a cute little doggie that discovers everything through their mouths, so those hands are most definitely going in there since they just realized they have hands. Pretty soon those hands are going to start picking up things and pulling on things...like your hair. :p

I did read that babies can teeth as early as 2-3 mos, but most babies don't break through until 6-9 mos. I bought the teething tablets at 3 mos. thinking at least I have them! :)

I see the teeth buds too [didn't know they were called that, lol] when they yawn. They haven't quite figured out their hands yet, but I guess they have enough if they're constantly getting them to their mouths ^_^

I'll just have to get used to them drooling/slobbering on everything  They've already been grabbin my hair, but I don't think it's intentional [yet].

They could just be interested in their hands...something new. Or, it could possibly be teething. THe twins started teething at 3 months and each got 2 teeth right at 5 months.

Olivia just started teething like 1.5 weeks ago and just got her first tooth today (at 6 months)
