My boys are almost 4 months and I can't believe that they could already be starting to teethe. They have their hands in their mouths constantly and they aren't sucking on them they are just chewing on them. Is that just part of them finding their hands or could they be starting to teethe(sp?). I'm sure they won't actually get teeth for a while and they don't really seem fussy but why else would they be chewing on their hands. I feel like I should be washing their hands all the time? Do I need to get them anything to chew on? They can grab and hold onto things and put them in their mouths so I wasn't sure. Just when I think I have things figured out they start doing something new.

Meara started to chew and drool around the same age as your kiddos. Now we are almost 6 months old with no teeth in sight, but will a lot of drool and chewed toys! I have teethers (made by Sassy) that go in the fridge. Both girls like them, but get mad when they fall out of their hands. Someone on here suggested wetting part of a wash cloth and putting it in the freezer. I think thats a good idea and have been meaning to try it. When I wash their faces each morning they try to grab the cloth and stuff it into their mouths! Good luck! -Leighann

i swear DD was teething around 5 months, but didnt' get her teeth for another 2! DS had NO signs whatsoever of teething and out popped 2 around 6 months. and one of my friends' son had 5 teeth at 4 months  so they COULD be starting to teeth, but more likely they have just really found their hands. just like puppies, they really use their mouth to learn and explore (much to our disgust sometimes!) I would get them some nice toys they can hold and stick in their mouth. i put some in the fridge, some in the freezer (but sometimes that is TOO cold). you can worry about washing their hands, but quite frankly, it is only going to get worse!!!!! just do the best you can!

We started the process about 4 months, just like yours. They both had one pop aroudn 5 months, and another around 5 1/2 months. Now I think we have more coming! It's a never ending process.

My girls liked froze washcloths. They hated the teethign rings. On really bad days I'd give them infant motrin or tylenol.

    hang in there!!

My girls started teething around 2.5-3 months and they both got their first two teeth at 4 months. Early teether's. :)
I just let my girls chew on any toy they could get their hands on, I also gave them frozen washclothes.

Ainsley just started this weekend, and let me tell you, we've ALL been suffering. She has a drool rash, a low grade fever, and a BAD temper! No teeth yet, but I hope they pop up soon and the misery will end!!

5 & 7 months with the twins. They can start drooling and chewing well before you will see any teeth!

James started the proces around 3 months and his bottom teeth came in at 5 months (just shy of 5 months). Evan is drooling, red cheeks, chewing on everything - but no teeth yet.

could be teething, also their salivary glands become more active around that age but they don't know how to swallow all that saliva yet, thus all the fun drooling. hope it gets better soon. DS especially soaks his bibs and tops of his onsies while chewing away and the first two fingers right now and I keep thinking a tooth will arrive any day...
