    Hey:
My guys started teething early. Drooling. Flushed cheeks. Cranky. So sad to see since they have been very happy babies until now.

What did you do and what worked? Mine are NOT on solid foods (only five months old...and preemies)...And how long does this last? Wow. It's horrible to see them scrunch in pain when they sleep.

    Poor fellas.

Good ole' fashioned teething rings, frozen wash clothes, anything they can chew, tylenol at bed time (switch to Motrin when you can), teething tablets and we used Orajel as a last resort when it got really bad. I've also heard to let them chew on a cold carrot (like a really big one that they can't swallow). The best part is, it does get better and just one day can make a world of difference.

    Hang in there momma!

My pedi suggested Hylands teeting tablets and they worked wonders for us..plus they are all natural, so if you would rather not go the tylenol route you have an alternative. We it got really bad we did both the tablets and the tylenol and the combo really worked well. Teething can last a while before the tooth actually pushes through..it all depends on the baby.

We used the frozen washcloths during the day and Tylenol on bad days at 5 months old. Once they turned 6 months old, we got the go ahead to switch to Motrin and that really helped. Especially at night.

Thanks. I was surprised when I asked some family members what they do and they said they rubbed whisky on their gums... I was like, ummmm, no. Not OK with me. But they swore by it. I pictured Child Services showing up at their houses like a SWAT team.

The wet, frozen washcloth is all that is working now....more later.

Thanks for the tips. Hard to see such happy guys be so fussy. Really hard.

Teething tablets during the day, tylenol when it got bad and at night. I switched to motrin at 6 months and it works better, especially at night!

My dd got her first tooth at 4 months, so I feel your pain! My oldest dd started teething at 4 months and didn't get a tooth until 9 months! :faint: It was a long 5 months!!
