We are in teething **** here, and my friend swears by the H*yland's teething tablets. Have you tried them, and if so, what did you think of them?

Off topic, but any idea why babies aren't supposed to have ibuprofen until 6 months? Tyelnol doesn't seem to be helping us much here either!

    TIA,
    Suzi

    Edited for grammar.

My sister tried the hyland teething tablets and felt they really helped. I bought some awhile back but haven't used them yet.

Ibprofen is not recommended until after 6mo b/c the dosing is based on weight and it is harder to get a accurate dosing. you can always call your pedi and ask if it would be okay and they can tell you how much you can give based on your babies weight. IMHO Ibprofen works better and lasts longer too.

Hope you find some relief for your babies teething!

I tried the teething tablets and I didnt think they did anything either. I do know of some who swear by them. I got the okay from my Ped at the 6 mo appt to give Motrin. Call them and see if they will give you a dose based on their last weight if it was recently. IMO the Motrin works much better than Tylenol--especially at night since it lasts longer.

I tried them and they seemed to take that ouchie out of their mouth until the meds could kick in.

We used 'em with my older DD, and I liked them a lot -- I'm a fan of homeopathic remedies. But, she didn't have a lot of difficulty with teething -- almost none, actually -- so no idea if they'd work on a baby who was really suffering. I expect I'll find out with at least one of my little ones!

I used them with my twinkies when they were too young for Motrin and they made my Sarah poop. A lot :icon_eek: My pediatrician said it's probably b/c they have licorice in them. I have no idea if that's good or bad, but he said he doesn't really like his patients using them, especially on babies younger than 6mo b/c they are not regulated by the FDA. That being said, I have used them since then sparingly, and they seemed to take the edge off of Ben's pain. I would definitely call your dr's office and see what they say.

Love them love them love them! I even use them myself when I have tooth issues.
Many doctors have no education when it comes to homeopathic treatments, so they usually say no.
What brand is it that contains licorace??? That seems odd.

We used them for the girls and still do ocassionally. It seemed to take the immediate pain away from them and give them some relief.

I've used them and they really seem to help with the pain and to calm the babes. I feel better about using the tablets than sticking motrin / tylenol in them all of the time - but that's me. I've always been like that even with myself as far as medication is concerned. Not that I won't give my babes motrin. I can tell when they are in uncomfortable mode from teething - that's when I use the tablets - and when they are in more pain - I use motrin or tylenol. My ped didn't like them either - same thing about the FDA. I went with my gut - especially because I've know Moms that swore by them!
