    :hi:

I thought we were okay with teething as they have 10 already, combined. My ds seems to be getting his top two now and things are a little different. With the bottom two, I didn't know they were coming until they were out and about! Never any other "symptoms". Well, since he has reflux, I am a total nut about how much formula he is getting. So this time around, he doesn't seem to want to much from his bottle. I offer 8oz, which he usually guzzles, now he stops at around 3oz. BUT he isn't showing all the symptoms he was when it was reflux, he just simply clamps his mouth, no tantrums like before. He is eating alot more solids. Last night I made 5oz worth of formula with cereal and another jar of stage 2 veggies, ALL GONE! That is alot for him, so that's why I am leaning towards teething. I guess I am just your ladies suggestions and btdt stories. Do you all think this is teething? or reflux? :unknw: TIA!!

We are having the same issues here - but my DD has not gotten any of her teeth yet. I have no answers for you but I am looking forward to seeing what everyone else says. It is so frustrating that they will eat their cereal and fruits/veggies with no problem but put a bottle in front of them and its like you are trying to feed them poison!

Try giving them some teething gel or tablets before giving the bottle. Sometimes that helps with my babies.

Hillybean, I know! I keep saying to him that it's not poison, but he insists that it is! :D
Gilbert mommy, I did try to give motrin before the bottle, but it doesn't seem to be working.
I guess we will wait it out and see what next week brings! :cray:

Those top teeth are a real PITB! My Seanie is getting his top teeth first so he's only been drinking 5-6 oz of formula (instead of 8) but he gobbles down solids like no ones business.

He'll get those teeth any day now and be back to eating well soon. :)

And it could be age as well. Around that age mine wanted less formula and more solids, which is completely normal. Because if you think about it in 2 months they won't have the formula anyway, and will be on whole milk. At 1, they drank about 3 sippies a day, and focused mostly on their solids.

That boy giving you trouble again? Those top teeth are buggers when they are coming in...causing a lot more discomfort, I think. If he is eating his solids good, and not drinking his bottles, I am willing to bet it's the teeth. (That and he likes to keep you guessing!) Have you tried Tylenol or Motrin? I rubbed the baby Orajel on their gums right before bottles, and that helped some. And if all else fails...try standing on your head. :fool:

 Standing on my head! That's what I forgot to try!!!

    Thanks ladies for your input.
Jamie, I didn't even think of that as a possibility! Could be, but as Becky knows all to well :FIFblush: this boy does like to keep me on my toes...so any signs and mama :shok: !
Becky! My hero! I haven't tried the orajel on the gums but at the next bottle feeding I will try it, I forgot I even had that stuff!

Thanks again ladies! I would lose what little mind I have left with out you! :search:

I agree that it is likely to be that he just wants more solids than liquids. My ped. told me on Friday at our 9 months that you slowly want to transition them to more solids than liquids. He said the minimum of formula should be 16oz. Hope this helps!
