One of my boys is getting a larger tooth (I think) on his bottom right side and it's incredibly swollen. The gum is almost "bubbled" up around the area and it's black and blue. Yesterday, it almost seemed hard to me and today it's maybe a little squisher. He is constantly chewing on whatever he can find on that side. I just don't know if this is normal. I have a call into the pedi. Have any of your LO's experienced a tooth like this? Thanks!

I haven't experienced that... poor little one! I can't usually get my fingers in their mouths to inspect...

I usually have the same problem, when mine are teething they want me nowhere near their mouth. I would say if you are concerned, I would contact the pedi

Just talked with the pedi and he assured me that it's normal ... It's a broken blood vessel that causes it to look black and blue but the tooth is probably just fine. Now I know .... on to the next thing!!! LOL.

Thanks for letting us know what the ped said; now I won't worry if the same thing happens to one of my boys!
