Just wondering how many of you had runny noses with teething. My DS woke up last night screaming--for about 2 hours. Just wouldn't settle back down--very unusual for him..sleeps right through. This morning he has a clear runny nose--just keeps dripping, but no other symptoms of a cold...yet. Definitely see two buds on his lower gums and it's definitely time for teething for him. I read conflicting stuff, so wnated to get real stories--

My dad just had open heart bypass surgery, and was planning on staying with them for a week....but if they have colds, then we can't go, so trying to see if nay of you have had a runny nose literally within a day or two of teeth coming out and then the runny nose goes away. Dont' know if it is contagious..assuming if it is teething then its not.

With mine sometimes it's hard to tell. They do seem to get runny noses with teething. When they have colds they sneeze a lot also, and the runny nose is almost non-stop all day. I suppose you may not be able to tell the difference between a mild cold and teething, though. If you're unsure, it's probably best to be cautious. I hope your dad recovers quickly!

My DS when he is teething gets a clear runny nose, a slight fever and a runny diaper. Hope your Dad is feeling better

Mine have had runny noses with teething and also if there is a big temp change in the weather, sometimes that makes their noses run.
