My kiddos have had 5 & 8 teeth for what seems like eternity now. They haven't cut any new ones in ages. Dumb question, but is that normal? It seems like they were constantly cutting new ones over the fall/winter. (I know, I should be thanking my lucky stars instead of worrying. )

Derek just cut all of his molars after having 8 teeth for about 5 months and Tyler is just cutting the bottom incisors after only having 6 (4 top/2 bottom) for at least 6 months. They took some major time off before cutting any new ones but once Dereks molars started coming in they all came in together and he was miserable.

Kevin had 4 teeth at one, and 8 at 16 months, and just now at 22 months is getting some other side and back teeth. I do think it is normal. :hug99:

It is normal. I think mine had a big "on hold" between 4 and 8 teeth -- then went from 8 to 12 really fast -- then it took forever to get the next 4 (the canines).

My DD had a ton (10 by 1 yr, now has 12), but DS only had the bottom front teeth until he hit 14 months. Now he seems to be getting the rest all at once!
