Teething & fevers

For those of you who have went through teething or are going through it, did your little ones ever get fevers? I've read in a lot of places that it's a myth that babies get fevers while teething, so I'm just wondering if others have experienced it.

The reason I'm asking is because my DS is running a 100 degree fever. He's not excessively fussy, is eating pretty good, & is sleeping well. He's just WARM. I checked to see if any teeth had popped through & the second I hit his gums, he SCREAMED out in pain & pulled away. I gave him Orajel & Ibuprofen, but am just really hoping this fever could be from his teeth & not that he's coming down with something...again ( he just got over Hand, Foot, & Mouth and RSV).

Anyone with experience?

 

Each time Ansley cuts a tooth, which has happened 5 times now, she get a 99 degree fever. Everything else seems okay...sometimes more fussy than normal. It's not a myth.

 

My babies don't get feverish when teething (they have plenty of other ways of making their misery known! ), but I've heard of plenty who do.

I hope it's just the teething and not another illness! Crossing my fingers for you...

 

One or two of my kids have gotten a low-grade fever with teething. Sounds like you are doing everything right! Hope that little tooth pops through soon!

 

The 2 bottom teeth popped through today. Guess that was the trouble (although he still has the fever, just not as high)!!!!

Both of mine have consistently gotten a low grade fever with every tooth. In fact, Lucas is working on one now and was running around 100.5 this morning.
