Teething at 4 months?

    Hi Everyone -
Since the search function is not working right now (at least not for me?), I'm turning to you ladies with the following question: could it be possible that our four months olds are teething? We are blessed with two generally very happy and cheery babies and they have been incredibly cranky, drooling all over the place, sticking everything and their brother's fingers in their mouths. They run very slight fevers at night, nothing major, though. It seems way early, but could it be?
    Thanks!
    Rachel

My niece began to teeth super early also. My sister used Hylands teething gel. They make tablets too but at that age, the gel is perfect. It is an all natural product.

Sounds like teething to me. The only remedy for my girls was Motrin or Tylenol; nothing else seemed to work.

My boys got their first teeth at the end of 3 months. At the time I had no idea how early it was, but it's possible.

I gave them tylenol and baby orajel; they are still too young for motrin/ibuprofen, so you'll have to wait until 6 months.

Definitely could be teething. I don't think 4 months is all that early. Most of mine had their first tooth by 5 months. I hope they come through quickly & get over the crankies soon!

Yep, I've got some teething babies too. My dd is taking meds for an ear infection that I gaurantee is teething related. Both my older kids had their first ear infections when teething.

Hopefully it's over soon, once they pop the first couple teeth they seem better able to deal with the pain of teething. Unfortunately my older dd started teething at 4-5 months and her first tooth didn't come in until 9 months old!!! I hope the twins don't follow her! :p

Tylenol or teething tabs is what we're using, it helps sometimes at least!

Thanks everyone - not what I was hoping, but at least that explains all the fussiness... I'll go to the pharmacy tomorrow and see what I can get here in Germany. Now off to bring the munchkins to bed! :)

Tyler got his first toothe right around 4 month old. The first 2 was not a problem but the 2nd was horrible. Personally I wont use anything other then Tylenol or Oragel (sp?). They are to young for Motrin right now and I have read bad things about Hylands. I used Hylands with the twins but not this time.

    +1
Warren got his first tooth at 4 months - we use the Hydlands teething tablets all the time. I think they help take the edge off, but when it gets really bad it is tylenol time.
