Teething and Motrin

So someone told me that Motrin helps more with the pains of teething. I bought some yesterday b/c the girls are cutting their first teeth. They're 10 1/2 months but weigh in at 15 and 18lbs. Is it ok to give it to them? I read the warnings on the box and it was a little alarming! The tylenol isn't helping as much. One DD is a mess with the teething while the other only occasionally seems to be in pain. What should I do? Any advice welcome!

 

I was told that it was ok after 6 months.

And I just looked at my bottle, it says 1.25ml if they are 6-11 months, and 12-17lbs. Is that what yours says? I think it's fine. I would only give it at night when they are teething, sometimes Motrin will upset tummies, I know it does mine.

I would always check with your pedi ..... just tell them the age & weight and they'll tell you exactly what dose to give them. I can't remember what they told me at that age, but I think they go more with weight than age.

PS - motrin worked a lot better for us than Tylenol for teething, too

 

I'm sure it's fine. I've been using Motrin/Advil (ibuprofen) for the last two months with my girls and it works much better than Tylenol.

 

Mine are almost 9 months and we give Motrin for teething. I will normally not give it more than twice a day. That seems to work fine. I always give it to them before bedtime.

 

I swear by Hyland's Teething Tablets.
