teeth grinding

My girls have 2 teeth on the bottom in the middle, and the 2 middle ones on top are coming in. They grind the 4 teeth together all the time! It is the worst noise - like nails on a chalk board! Why do they do that? Should I call the pedi?
Do your babies grind their teeth? How do you get them to stop?

 

UGH! Mine have been doing this for months! It drives me crazy! It does get better. I think they are just testing out were they are. It is really annoying though!

 

My DS is also doing that and it gets on my last nerve!!! When he starts I usually just grab a toy for him to chew on. I hope it doesn't damage the teeth!

 

DD did that for a while, but it seemed like it was just a phase. As a matter of fact, the more we told her not to, the more she'd do it. She is that way.. you tell her NOT to do something and she'll continue to do it.

 

OMG! Here I thought my son was the only baby who did this! He has four bottom teeth and four top teeth. The noise is maddening! It drives my MIL NUTS! :laughing:

 

My one dd did this all the time and it drove me NUTS! It would give me chills everytime. I found there was really nothing I could do to stop it. I just had to deal until the fun of it for her wore off. Sorry, no advice but just wanted share that I remember that time very vividly.

 

I know it's a terrible noise! Mine did this for about three weeks and must have forgot about it because they stopped all of a sudden....now they just whine all day. Hmmm, I'd rather hear teeth grinding I think

 

It makes me shutter to just think about it. We went thru that stage here and it lasted WAY too long. There was nothing I could do to make them stop except ignoring it. If I freaked they would laugh and do it more. UG.
