Is there anyway to get Genevieve to stop grinding her teeth?!? She has two on bottom and two new ones on top. She walks around the house all days going crunch crunch crunch. I'm so worried that she's going to grind away her little teeth before they ever have a chance! :(

I would call the pedi and see about something to distract her from that! Can't be good!

A LOT of little kids grind - they ususally grow out of it, but most do when they sleep at night - Totally NORMAL - there is nothing you can do.....except get used to it. If your kids go to the Dentist - you can ask the RDH or DDS if they see significant grinding or wear, but most kids do this a lot - so don't worry!

My girls did this for a while too. Searra much more than Ellie. Set my hair on end!

She really did it when those top teeth were new also and has since stopped. I think they're just exploring the new sensations. Yuck! Every once and a while I'll hear her now, but it's extremely rare! Hopefully once she gets used to her new teeth, she'll stop.

Oh my goodness. That is one of the absolute worst sounds ever! Worse even than nails on a blackboard, to me!

Lilly does this too! She started it a few months ago, then we got her to make a clucking sound instead, and she thought that was fun. Now she just started the grinding again, and it's horrible! I think she just does it "because she can."

I asked my dentist about this the other day and she said that ALOT of kids grind and that they usually will grow out of it.
