Teeth grinding with only 4 teeth?

Ok, today Evan started doing the wierdest thing. I can only describe it as sounding like he was grinding his teeth. The thing is that he only has his 2 bottom teeth fully in. His top 2 just broke through. He was doing it all day and it was really starting to concern me. Have any of your kiddos done this? Any explanation? Should I be worried and call the pediatrician?

If the top 2 are broken through, he probably is grinding them. It is a new feeling and sound and he just likes to make it; I wouldn't worry unless it continues for weeks. Once the newness of having teeth wears off I don't think he'll do it again.

 

Trevor is doing this same thing!!! He has 7 teeth and he just started doing it about a week ago. It gives me chills everytime I hear it.

 

Emma does it too...yikes!!

 

Ooh, this post brought back memories! My dd ground her teeth on and off for ages - it drove me crazy, but she just seemed to be experimenting with the sound/feeling. She stopped for good around 2 year old.

 

Sometimes grinding their teeth relieves teething pain. You could try giving him a damp washcloth to chew on, that might help with that noise. The grinding teeth noise gives me the heebie-jeebies!
