    Hey everyone-
I was wondering how many of you are having problems with serious breakouts? My skin looks worse than it ever did when I was teenager! I hate it, I know that this it a hormonal thing, but anyone got any ideas to help "cure" it or make it better? I have been using clearasil, and it definitly isn't helping!
    Thanks in advance

I too have had terrible skin while pregnant--I'm talking serious 1992 face here. I haven't bothered with any acne treatments but I do put on a mud mask once a week and that always seems to brighten up my face.

Yes, I had problems with both my pregnancies. Ah, the joys of pregnancy.

I feel your pain!! I was just getting out of the teenage skin.... 6 glorious months or so without a breakout, I get pregnant and BAM! breakout city. I'm starting to clear up now... so at least for me it doesn't seem to be lasting my entire pregnancy! Hopefully yours doesn' either!!

I'm not totally sure, but I actually think using a mask draws OUT the impurities and causes more pimples. Just make sure that whatever you're using is for clearing up acne. I made that mistake back in the day.

I'm sorry! I've heard that it can clear up in the second or third trimester, though!

I had horrible skin during pregnancy but it reserved itself to one part of my face. Nothing worked. As soon as I gave birth it went away. Hopefull you find some relief!

Mine was absolutely horrible in the first trimester, got steadily better during the second and I am almost back to normal, it's hormonal - probably nothing you can do. Drink lotsa water? :)

A mask does bring ut the impurities and make you have more pimples so they can clear up all at the same time. It brings them to the surface then clears it.

I'm having the same problem...actually it's worse than when I was a teenager. And it won't clear up no matter what I do. I've heard it'll go away once the babies arrive.

I actually had bad acne as a teenager and in my early twenties. Then I started using Shiseido's "Pureness" skin care line, and it worked wonders for my skin.

I've been lucky in pregnancy, my skin has gotten very clear. Even my old acne scars seem lighter. But I have just been using plain unscented neutrogena and oil of olay moisturizer. I think the 12 glasses of water a day are doing the trick!

My skin is worse now than it ever was when I was a teenager. It's worse this pregnancy than any of my others. I use Neutrenga(sp), Deep Cleanse Scrub in the shower and the Deep Cleanse Cream before bed. It hasn't gone away completely but has helped drastically. My problem area is my chin, can't get that to clear up for my life.

Definitely breaking out. I am prone to breakouts usually due to stress, or unless I'm in a really good skincare regimin. So, I guess pg brings it out. I have a low stress life and am using the Clinique line that I started around the beginning of the year. Not much luck, though <_<.

I have PCOS and acne has been continual problem for me since my early 20's. Since I cannot be on my regular acne medicine due to the pregnancy, my dermatogolist has me on a Triaz facial wash twice a day and Clindamycin, a clear cream, twice a day. It has not cured the acne but the face does not look too bad. Would Pro-activ be helpful? I read that Loreal and another company Acne-Free have lines that you can buy over the counter but I don't know how safe they are for pregnant women or whether they are helpful or not.
Acne, whether you are pregnant or not, is a major pain in the butt!!!! I hope it clears up soon for you!

I've been using Proactiv for about four years now...even through my second pregnancy, and now. This time around though..I don't know if it's the hormones or what, but that first trimester...oh lord! My skin was so oily and prone to breaking out. Now, that I've graduated into the second trimester, it's slowly gotten better, but I still get once a week blemishes. Thank God for makeup... B)

I have PCOS and have had bad acne breakouts since I was 12. I started using ProActive about a year ago & it has helped tremendously!! I love it!! I don't use it as frequently since pregnancy, but still seems to be working for me!! I get a little breakout now & then, but nothing as bad as before using it!!
