Teacher Assignments came

I am very happy with the teachers. Jon got the class that I requested, and Marcus got a new teacher--she was hired for 3rd, then moved to K--and she is the mother of triplets. Our neighbor who is one of Marc's "girlfriends" is in his class--as well as a few other girls we know.

The only thing that I am unhappy with is the bus stop--and I am going to call and fight. Basically, our next door neighbor is at the "regular" stop--the one that all our neighbors have gone to. We have been assigned to one farther down the road--basically my boys would have to walk past the "regular" spot, past another bus stop, to get to their assigned spot--yes, my 5 year olds, have to go past 2 stops, including one where all their friends are! And to top it off, they are scheduled to be dropped off at a totally different stop! Needless to say, Monday morning I will be on the phone. GRRR!

I would definitely call re: the bus stop. That seems really wierd...do you think that they just made a mistake? Hopefully they are flexible. I know our stops are totally flexible, and they will reassign you if need be.

 

Kate, I hope so. From what I have heard, the guy is basically an idiot and goes by street names, and not actual house locations. One of my friends has her daughter at the same stops as my boys, and her son at the "regular" stop--her daughter is also in K, and son is in 3rd. He may be trying to distribute the large number of K kids, but this isn't the way to do it!

 

Good news! The guy actually switched our bus! Evidently the one he "thought" we should go on was packed, but he didn't look at the one that was actually closest.

So now we really are all set! Just have to wait until Sept. 6.
