Target Question

Does Target let you return items you have purchased without a receipt. I know Wal-Mart will not let you and I was wondering what Target's policy was.

Also, if they do accept returns without receipts what do you think the odds are they will take formula back. It is target brand formula. We had to switch from Lacto-Free to Soy and have a can of Lacto-Free we do not need.

I also have a couple items someone gave us from Target that we do not need and I would like to exchange them for some Formula.

they will put it on a gift card for you......also if you purchase anything there on a credit card/debit card or checking account....they can look up the purchase for you...and it doesn't count as no reciept.

They let you do two returns per year without a receipt, if I recall correctly. If the formula is unopened, they should let you exchange it, but most stores won't take a flat return on formula, receipt or not. You shouldn't have any problems with the other items. Gather everything up at once and make it count for one of your allowed exchanges.

 

Rosie is correct. You have to show your DL to do a return without receipt

 

The Target in our town will not take any returns without a receipt and the one in the next town will do 2 per year with no receipt. But they might do things differently in your state... our Walmart is very lenient with returns... you can pretty much return anything without a problem.

LOL - Our Wal-Mart will not even let us exchange for the same item in another size without a receipt!

 

i have had problems with target, so i ALWAYS hold onto my receipts now!!! as per pp, the one here does the 2 items per year with your DL. if they won't let you do the return, you could always try to sell it on craig's list- i've heard of people doing that, though haven't done it myself. at least you could recoup some of the cost.

 

I was just there about 2 hours ago and asked this very question at the return desk I was told (at a NJ Target) that the item has to be under 20 bucks and they will accept 2 per year with your drivers license. But...as pp said, they can look up a credit card if you purchased it with one, and then that rule does not apply. Good luck..hope they take it back! I just spent a day of trying to return some random work shower gifts and have decided that I definitely, for sure, without a doubt, HATE Wal-mart!
