I know I shouldn't say I'm at the end of my rope, because we've got a LONG way to go in the tantrum department.

I just want to know - it's not just me right? My boys are nearly 17 months. Are other kids this age having tantrums all day long? I guess I had this idea that tantrums start during the "terrible twos" and that was age 2-3. Is it normal that they are flipping out right and left at this age?

My DH pointed out last night that it seems extra frustrating because we have 2 the same age - so it's literally twice the number of tantrums that we are dealing with. [IMG] Believe me, I love having twins, but this is one disadvantage for sure!

Mine have different kinds of tantrums. Bea is more the type to get mad, throw herself on the floor and kick and scream if she can't do what she wants. Ainsley gets all whiny and clingy and sobs if I can't hold her right then and there or if Bea is horning in on the attention.
We can go several days without a tantrum, and then boom, we'll have a day where it's like that's all they do.

You are not alone. Ryan is constantly throwing tantrums and he likes to hit his head on whatever is closest at the time. This has been going on for a while. We just turned 2, so part of me hopes he outgrows this because some days it makes me feel like I am losing what ever is left of my mind.

Its the age, teething, new skills, the moon, etc! Your so not alone. It was so funny, ALec just started throwing them about 1 to 1 1/2 months ago. He starts out by comely sitting down then gently laying back to the ground then starts screaming and kicking his feet! It is bizarre!

Well, DH says, "Where did he learn that? What are you teaching them?" [IMG]

It amazes me as well, how "instinctual" tantrums are! My DD never did that. Then of course, monkey see monkey do! [IMG]

We just sort of ignore or make super light of them. They only last about 40-60 seconds. Just enough to make you CRAZY! [IMG]

Puck is the KING of tantrums. He's so unpredicatble too, you just never know when he's going to blow up...it is so embarrassing!

It started pretty early, maybe a year & a half. Now, he throws at least a couple good ones a day. Today when I was trying to leave my middle son's soccer practice at the Y, I basically carried Puck out over my shoulder (he was kicking & screaming). Of course, I was also juggling two of my other kids, the diaper bag, and my own gym bag. It wasn't pretty!
