I'm glad you have a sling! The easiest way for me was to wear one on my back (I used a mei tai or wrap for it) and put the other in the buggy. Usually, they both slept and I could get in and out pretty quickly.

  2. k, so what do you do if you have 6 month old twins and a 2 1/2 year old toddler? this is my situation and i think that even presents more of a challenge! mostly, i wait for my husband to come home and then i run out, but there are times during the day that i just am dying to get out!! any suggestions?

I have two Infantino sling that I use for short errands. Otherwise, I usually wait for DH, and we each take one in a sling. The nice thing is that people think we're carrying a large handbag and most don't even notice we have twins (which is great for avoiding the whole germ thing, though we did wait several weeks to bring them out anywhere in public).

As they get bigger, I think I'll put one in a car seat in a cart, and sling the other one.

At that age, I did grocery runs during naps and it was a relaxing trip for me. I did it every few days and just used my Duoglider. As long as I wasn't buying something really large like a jumbo pack of toilet paper or two 12-pks of coke, it all fit in the bottom of the stroller. The checkout ladies were always amazed at how much I would pull out of the bottom of my stroller when it was time to pay.

We go out every day as I can't stand being in the house all day. For grocery shopping I do the duoglider with 2 baskets on either side with those big hooks from BRU. My 4 yr old has strict rules about holding on to the side of the stroller, he's pretty good about it because he knows it's not negotiable! For walks at home we have a Chariot2 jogger so I can still take them out in the snow and they stay cosy and covered. I'd lose my mind if I didn't ever leave the house!!

When they were in their infant car seats I did grocery shopping with a double snap n go. As PPs said you can fit a lot in that basket.

If I had to buy bulky items like diapers and toilet paper (usually at Target) I pushed the stroller in front of me and dragged a cart behind me. The trick is to pull the cart by the front corner (not the middle) -- and hold it behind you and to your side, not directly behind you. This way you won't run over your own heels with the cart (ouch, I've done it too many times!).

Once they outgrew the infant car seats I had to figure out a new system. Now I put one in a baby carrier and the other goes in the seat in the shopping cart. (They can sit up now so this is not a problem.)
