Well after much planning, packing, and anticipation we are off for our family vacation to Maryland by plane. This will be our first trip with all three children being mobile. And our first trip back in about 3 years. I am trying to remain calm but I am starting to get anxious about how it will all work and how will we keep everyone happy. We are very much "by the book" parents and this trip came together on a whim and we just went with it. So not like us! At least we have a nice direct flight. Any words of wisdom are appreciated.

Good luck!!! We are leaving for our second trip with the ladies in exactly two weeks. One thing DH and I keep saying to each other (regarding the plane trip) is "it is only 5 hours out of our lives (each way of course!). We'll never see these people again so if they scream the entire way, oh well."

One other piece of advice I got was to change diapers before getting on the plane!!

    Have fun! -Leighann

You should have beautiful crisp fall weather, great time to be here!!

It's all downhill after you get through security. We flew cross-country with the boys a couple of months ago - which is very different than three mobile kids! - and I was a nervous wreck for weeks before. The best advice I got was to 1) smile at the people who smile at you and ignore the grumps, 2) remember that most of the flight attendants are moms, too, and 3) just keep smiling at your babies. The last was probably the most important because I was SO tense and they respond really quickly to that.

Honestly, I was so worried about all the parts and pieces we were traveling with, I never noticed if anyone was grumpy with us!

I love the advice : smile at those who smile at you and smile at your babies.

I think That Will Help Me when I travel this Friday on the 700 ( I am sure it will seem like that) hours trans-atlantic flight.

I also like the idea of "it's only 5hours out of our lives coupled with we will never see these people again!! I ca picture myself all wrapped up in " the stuff" not to even notice others around me.

Other good advice I was given was to pack 2 complete diaper bags because Mom and Dad may not be together. Also take new "quiet-ish" toys that will intrigue the little darlings and not make crazy noise--- not so much so as not to bother others but the babies may need some distracting while the lights are out and your DH is trying to sleep.

I will have 2 bassinettes in front of us -but stillcan't picture changing a pooy Matthew diaper there. Has anyone chaged a babe in the bathroom? WHere? How? AARRGGHHH

Lots of luck to those travelling!!!

Good luck! My advice is to throw your usual standards out the window for the duration of the flight. If you have to give them 100 Mum Mum biscuits to keep them happy, who cares. Nobody ever died of an overdose of Cheerios. Just do whatever you have to do to get through the hours you're in transit. And don't worry about the other passengers - they were all babies once too and I'm sure they made a bit of noise in their day! Enjoy, enjoy and let us know how things went!
