My twins have been taking one nap for a couple of weeks. We've been playing around with the time but generally it's around 11 (they're tired by 9:30 but if we put them down then it's a LONG afternoon, and they will not take a second unless we're driving home around 4:30 and they'll snooze in the car) or 11:30. They only sleep 90 minutes. This is making me crazy b/c we used to get two 90 minute naps. We've had to do an early bedtime at 6:30 because my daughter starts coming unglued around 5:30. They sleep around 11 to 11 1/2 hours at night. Will this single nap get longer? Oh I hope you say it does :) 90 minutes is about time to take a shower and do some dishes.

11 seems too early for just one nap... for them it probably just feels like it's the morning nap. If you want them to sleep longer you will probably have to keep them up until 12-12.30pm.

I hope it does get longer Jen. :good: For my two it did take a few weeks to let their bodies get adjusted and then their naps did get longer. Good luck!!

I hope it gets longer! Mine generally only take one 90 minute nap and it has to be pretty early in the day or else they have meltdowns.

I hope it does get longer for you, mine started off their one naps at 90 minutes and now they go 2 1/2 to 3 hours most days.

Ours got longer, and at its height was 3-4 hours. Now, it's going back down again to 2-3.

When we first switched to one nap, around 13 months, it was at 11 or 11:30 at first because that's when they were tired. After a couple weeks adjustment, they slept 3-4 hours. As they have gotten a little older, the one nap has moved to more like 12:30 to 1:00. But, I don't think an 11:00 nap is too much of an issue. Especially with an early bedtime. Mine were in bed at 7 and up at 6:30 at that time. So, 6:30 to 11 was up for 4 1/2 hours (5 if it was 11:30), and then they'd sleep until between 2 and 3 and be up for 4-5 hours in the afternoon.

Jen, mine go down down around 11:30 and sleep for 2 hours and then go to bed at 6:30 for the night and wake up at 6:30/7:00 in the morning.
