OK Ashley has been taking her diaper off at naptime. Then quite proudly stating that she has done a wee (or even once a poo!) in the bed.

I have spoken to her to tell her its naughty and wrong but she has now done it 4 times in the last 10 days.

They are also talking and chatting all through naptime. It seems one day chatting through nap, next day they sleep.
Or if we have long enough time, they chat for an hour and then nap....

We don't really know what to do about the taking off diaper thing.

I haven't moved to toilet/potty training yet but still I believe when they are trained, they still need to keep nappies on during naps.

So fed up of washing sheets etc.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Have you tried a sleepsack? We started putting our in them in place of a blanket when they were very young, and STILL do to this day! It's annoying sometimes to have yet another thing to do (twice), but it doesn't allow them access to their clothing/diaper and I believe it has kept one of my DD's from being able to climb out of her bed! We have had to safety pin the zipper down to the sleepsack for one DD (the same one, of course), otherwise she was spending her nap taking in on and off. They do make heavier and light weight ones depending on what kind of weather you have.

Sorry, that is the only thing I could think of...or maybe a pair of overalls put on backward??? ;) Good Luck!

It sounds like a control struggle to me. You don't want her to, so she does.

Don't make a big deal out of it. (Sounds impossibly hard) But I would just say in a sweet voice "we need to keep our nappies on during quiet time" and put it back on her. Maybe you could put her in a pull up and start sitting her on the potty and tell her that since she's taking it off, you are assuming she wants to use the potty. then she might either a) get potty trained or b) want her diaper and leave it on!

You can also try the duct tape and pinned together onsies etc...

I would use words that give her the control back. "You are the ONLY one that can tell me if you have to potty and you are the only one that can keep YOUR diaper on. Mommy can't do that for you. It's all YOU" (something like that - make it seem like she has the control - well, she does...)

She might be ready and you could use a pull up at naptime if she is ready to train!

She's screaming at the top of her lungs that she can control her bodily functions. Start PT right away and I think you'll be glad you did. At the very least, put her on the potty before nap and make a huge fuss when she succeeds so she'll choose getting attention for using the toilet rather than getting attention for going in her bed.

So maybe I should move to PT! Shock horror! She is already in a pull up nappy now! I'll see how it goes today by getting her to go to potty before nap....

Thanks *now quickly freaking out as mummy is not ready for PT*
